One way some are getting around these silly "Laws", if you can call them that, is to sell grocery items, and food. Some milk, and eggs. "Essential"

Three weeks ago I went to see my manager about getting our team prepared for the possibility that we might all be working from home for a while. I wanted us to come up with plans to maximize efficiency under those conditions. He was polite but he clearly thought I was being rediculously silly. Three days later the company sent everyone to go work from home.
I went into the office today (we are an ssential business, but most staff can work remotely) and found some good practice in place. The doors to all the restrooms were blocked open. The trash can lids had all been removed. There were hand sanitizers next to the conference room whiteboard markers, and the conferences had limited attendance. There was increased janitorial staff. I was glad to see they finally came through.

The city I live in has beaches as well as hundreds of acres of well-developed hiking trails. All of them are now closed to the public.
I am unusually fortunate that I have a nearly an acre of property myself. But many people in this area live in cramped apartments or small homes with just a narrow strip of lawn.
This concept of self - isolation relies entirely on the active participation of the whole public. How does the town expect to maintain that cooperation when they close down all the open space areas? The mindless of the local public officials is appalling.

Eh...no. Well, yes, people need to stop panicking. Go back to work? No.

This is not about stopping the spread. That boat has sailed. This is about slowing it down enough that hospitals don't become overwhelmed. Slowing it down enough that critical medical supplies can be made available. Slowing it down just long enough for infected medical workers to recover and return to work.

Lots of items today, including from Birx herself, that numbers have been overestimated.

895 new deaths in the US today. No over estimation there. At this rate the US will have 20 thousand more dead by mid April.

In large metropolitan areas, where people live in very close proximity, yes. But, the rest of the country, no.
It is my opinion that it would be faster, and more effective to mass produce the medication that is successfully treating this virus, and to harvest the plasma from those who have already been infected, than rely on machines to hopefully sustain life, for those about to die.
Kill the virus, causing the issues, rather than treat the issues once the arise.
Which has been an issue with the Western thinking of doctors for a long time. It is better to treat, and cure the Cause than just treat the Symptoms.

I seem to notice that type of thinking with lots of folks.
We build houses near water and then install flood walls and pumps.
Or we fail to care for ourselves and then want a pill that cures.

It was a magnitude 6.5, so it was fairly significant. Glen, did you guys feel that earthquake, or was it “isolated” to the other side of the state?

Make the medicine that they know works ready for anyone who needs it.

Keep going on distributing the tests.

    Keep working on the vaccine.

Tell those most succeptible because of health issues to stay isolated, for their own good.

Ask everyone else to look after the most vulerable while they get back to work.

Like it or not, it's possible to cross an economic point of no return. None of us wants that, but because of it there has to come a point where adults realize the good of the few does not outweigh the good of everyone else. One does not exclude the other -- the two CAN be balanced but right now, they are definitely NOT balanced. One Size Fits All never does, but that's what they're doing, by law.

Unfortunately, where do professionals sometimes make more money: curing a disease outright, or treating the symptoms while teaching the afflicted how to "manage" the disease for the rest of their lives? Nobody try to tell me it never happens, you know damn well it does.

Look up the differences between two kinds of Doctors. There are M.D.'s and D.O.'s. Two completely differing ways of treating patients.

The whole state felt it, from Boise to Bonner's Ferry , we had friends checking in all over the state, it was about 20-30 seconds of rolling shakes

The epicenter was about 300 miles SE of us down by Challis ID
