    Description: MD Style

    Time: 15-20 min
Difficulty: So easy I can do it
Serving Size: Depends on who you feedin'

    Ingredients:
2 Slices White Bread (no crust)
    1 tsp Yellow Mustard (optional)
    1 egg, beaten
    2 tsb Old Bay seasoning
1 Pound Crab meat (Blue Crab, fresh)

    Preparation:
Note: Let the crab do the walking/talking, keep the fillers and spice to a low point.

    Instructions:
    Break bread into crumbs.
    Mix all ingredients.
Make into patties about the size of your palm.
Broil 10 min, til golden brown.

If you don't have/like Old Bay then mix some Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Cumin, and a dash of Cayenne or you just use your favorite all spice.

You can also substitute the Bread Crumbs for Saltines or an unsalted cracker if Salt ain't yo thing.

I've always wanted to try making crab cakes. I'm seriously gonna give this a try.

    DUDE!

You live how close to "The Bay"?

Remember, let the meat do the work.

I see folks putting in Onions, Green Bell Peppers, Wostersauce, Milk etc.

    Keep it simple.

Have no fear... when I make something the first time, the recipe is king. The bay is about 4 hours away.

Old Bay = the Seasoning of the Gods.

I used to live in Maryland, and I SO miss the amazing seafood.

The recipe is pretty close to what they put on the Old Bay box but I modified it to make it even better, IMHO. :D

If you don't feel like a Broil you can also fry it up in a Cast Iron Skillet with some Extra Virgin Olive Oil and it ain't too bad. I just like the Broil better (less grease, I guess).

The best brand of canned crab meat is Philip's. Very tasty, and no shell bits to pick out.
