It's where I really started to drink it while visiting relatives many years ago. But I usually stock up on the canned stuff.
very cool Jim..its interesting what we continue to do from things experienced in the past..my love of beer in general came from a shandy with my grandad at the british legion he frequented.every time i went with him he would get me one.."don't tell yer mother "he'd say every time..that was 1978-80..
Yup. Nothing wrong with the High Life, good drinkable refreshing beer. Really good for just sitting back after a long day. But on the weekend I do prefer those darker fuller flavored beers.
I’ve been a huge IPA fan from before it was cool and trendy but there is nothing better than a slice of chocolate cake and a dark beer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
You Canadians are reminding me of my four years in Buffalo for college in the early 80's. We used to take trips into Canada to buy Molson Brador and Labatts Extra Stock. That was our high end brew when we had some cash. Otherwise we would drink Geneses Cream Ale, Genny Screamers as we called them. Those were the days.
Yeah (said with a deep raspy manly voice). This is about dark beer. No pretty boys holding pansy pilsners allowed.
I did the craft thing for years and recently returned to High Life. Its the same as I remember it: light and refreshing. To me, it reminds me of a simpler time in my life. I also appreciate how much cheaper it is. I can almost get a 30 pack of High Life for what a lot of craft beers cost.
In fact, they do. Pilsners were always the beers of the working class because they were a beer you could enjoy after you shift that was refreshing.
no arguments here gents,2-3 15 pacs a week is how much i like High Life..down to one 15 pack a week..for a while..
A few darks to consider: Becks dark. A classic dark German lager. Anchor Steam, original. Not a true dark, but possibly America’s best beer. A true German doppelbock. Or a dunkel weisse like tuchers. Catch her in the rye. A true original. Michael Jackson’s east India IPA from the joy of homebrewing. Toasted barley and a balance of malt and hops.
Some of us love their beer-flavored water ...especially with a summery slice of lime I do like the occasional milk stout or oatmeal stout too, though.
