Dasvidaniya Rapira PIF *FINISHED* **WINNER INSIDE**

I forgot to mention my family and I live in a renovated Titan II silo. It's a little damp, but cozy.

 

Dang missed by 2 years. Old enough to remember the threat and those tertible(terribly awesome) movies. One of my classmates broke down in tears from the fear of being blown up... Red dawn would definitely have been my pick. WOLVERINES!!!

 

I'm out. I was born in '91 just after Desert Storm. I grew up watching all those movies, but I still missed that era due to the fact of not being born then. But there is a good movie that depicts the Berlin Wall coming down called Bye Bye Lenin. It's a German film. Anyway, cool PIF.

 

This brings back many great memories. It's easily one of the best movies of all time IMHO! Used to race "Crotch-Rockets" "Rice-Burners" with a large group of friends and we all must have watched this movie a hundred or more times. Those were the days!

We got passes to go visit the Russkies. A 1st class P.O. stocked up on a carton of Winstons and stashed them all over him because he'd done this drill before. We went aboard the Ustinov. He got mugged, in a friendly way...Russian sailors had him in a corner, trading him watches, rubles, anything they had for a pack of smokes. Don't recall now what I brought with me but I ended up with a black silk hat ribbon and one of those blue and white horizontal stripe sailor shirts. Then one came up and handed me a woven wristband that said Peace. I indicated I had nothing left to swap but he said "Gift" and walked away. True story.

He was probably KGB.

 

I think this -- or living in one of those really tiny houses -- is my destiny.

Actually that's not a bad retirement idea -- live in a tiny house where it is basically a shave den and not much else.

In the missile silo I bet you have lots of room for your shaving gear.

 

When I was a kid, I dreamed of owning my own empty water tower...the old fashioned tank kind with six legs. I wanted an elevator going up the main shaft. I'd be surprised to learn if someone hasn't tried it.

I have an address in the States and my brother inlaw is a career US Marine.

 

I remember all of these bad movies and actually saw Remo Williams in the theater with my father.
