I've been lucky. I started DE shaving in the sixties as a teen, did so until the late seventies, and then switched to 'twin blades'. I rarely had a nick after I learned to shave with my DE but rarely had shave with the twin blade stuff without a small nick of some sort.
I tried shick and panasonic electrics and had no nicks but rarely had a decent shave.

In September of this year, I went back to DE shaving and acquired a single ring, long comb, New Improved, Merkur Slant, Super Speeds (Red and no color), a Fatboy, and a Krona. All were bought to gain the feel of what I had in the sixties and I finally settled on the Fatboy. Each shaved a big differently but I've not had many weepers at all.
As I shave now, I wonder why I ever went to the plastic.
Takes me about 7-8 to shave.

My routine is about 10 minutes from start to finish, with a tiny nick maybe every 4th time--more often when using a dull blade on a beard of a couple days. I find my SE Gems, etc. to give the most consistent weep-free shave.

I tried a SE Gem a few weeks ago. (still have it). I'm sure it was technique but I couldn't shave well with it. Of course, the only single edge blades we have are from walgreens.

yeah 5-10 minutes on a 3 pass have is fairly par for me. I've been experimenting a bit lately with different blades again, so I'm nicking myself myself more like 1 in 2 or 3 instead of like once a week.

I don't time myself, but anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes for a full shave is a good guess, with different levels of success. Generally around 15 to 20 I suppose. I hadn't nicked myself shaving for quite a while until I took my first shave with a SE razor earlier this week. If I don't have much time I just do two passes (oh, I'm talking about DE again) and accept that it won't be my closest shave.
