De Vergulde Hand Extra Fris Shave Soap

Mike (macaronus) was was kind enough to send along some De Vergulde Hand Soaps, both the regular version and the Extra Fris.

I have not seen it available in the US, but was informed that both Royal Shave and the 'Bay has it. Well in my opinion a US distributor need to jump all over this product and start importing it.

I cannot tell you how much I love the scent, it has one of the cleanest, freshest scent that I have ever smelled in a shaving soap.

The lathering ability is second to none. It produced a thick luxurious lather in no time that felt silky soft on my skin. When it comes to soaps, I am normally a tallow fan, but this soap produced a lather as good as if not better than both Tabac and MWF.

After one use I can easily say this soap will become a regular part of my rotation, even if I need to bring it in by the case!

 

Yes, it's great! Personally I like the 'regular' De Vergulde hand even better. Both are excellent soaps.

 

Eurotrip to Holland anyone? I'll go again.

 

I have the Extra Fris (from the TSD store once upon a time) and the regular stick (courtesy of Mike also) and I love them both. Glad you found them too.

They've closed the "coffee houses" to tourists, so it might not be as fun as you may have, um, heard.

 

Really? That is crazy. Going to the Bulldog in Amsterdam just won't be the same. At least in this hemisphere we have Vancouver

 

I didn't know that, I was there last year and was able to go wherever I wanted. I didn't smoke, I just did a lot of underage drinking, even though I wasn't underage there.

 

Maybe he got in dutch with his supplier.

 

I have the regular De Vergulde Hand soap bowl, shaving stick, and shaving cream which are all great. I ner tried the Extra Fris version, but I heard it was awesome.

 

That even made Lurch hurt!

 

I've got the regular DVH, but have not used it yet. Maybe tonight!

 

I'm interested in this soap now. But first I have to get rid of stuff.

I decided to use the stick this week too. Mike & Azarius are bad influences.

 

So.... where do I get this stuff?

 

It's not real popular over here so it can be tough to find on the net. But, if you scour away, you might get lucky and find some. TSD store used to carry it, but no longer. Or, ya gotta know a guy.
