I once put the base plate of the PAA Alpha Ecliptic Slant on upside down. It was effectively a guardless slant. Fortunately I noticed my mistake before actually shaving. I don't think you could get the proper angle with that setup. I no pictures or it didn't happen so here you go. However @twhite's razor looks very interesting and you could definitely find the right angle with the way he made that head. Not sure this would be the best razor for a pass around but I'd give it a try if it made the rounds.
@twight That looks like a good shaver. You can go really low and tight on the shave angle, with that low profile head, giving a less traumatic DE shave as well as improved DE blade life. I would maybe scallop the base plate, for better lather/stubble relief. If you had a mounting hole for a handle at the end of the base plate, so that the razor could be converted back and forth from shavette mode to hoe handle mode, you would really have something. It's been done. Overall, I like what I see there. It even looks rather nice, with a minimalist, efficient look.
The worst that could happen? Primo cuts himself and we vultures get all his stuff! Kinda win-win for us tho.
It is not horrible at all. You need to be fully aware of blade angle and your pressure( like no pressure). Being so minimalist, it is a very delicate razor. Not something to be sold. One bang and it’s curtains for an edge.
