How well I know the feeling Jared. His photos include a stunning brush day after day. Your photos had me researching Shavemac brushes last night. I must resist. :D

Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Floid Vigoroso

I finished three shaves with the Astra SP and broke out a new Feather blade for this morning's shave. My face is recovering from some irritation earlier this week, so I've been going easy. Real easy, in fact, with the R41. Two passes, with just a little ATG action this morning, and I'm near BBS. Today is Floid Friday, and now I'm ready to go.

I'm starting a four-day weekend with my Bride today. We're looking forward to some family time to celebrate Christ's Birth. Our first family Christmas celebration occurred this past Sunday. Our family was blessed with a new baby girl this week. She is my dear nephew's third child. They just moved to California, so guess where we're heading next year? :)

I wish all my friends and their families a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Feather Focus continues - today brought up a fresh blade in the little Ball End Tech and the Bigelow cream. Results were cool and smooth. This cream normally travels in my Dopp kit, but I spied it in the drawer this morning and didn't want it to feel neglected.

    Update from yesterday's shave:

I mentioned some neck irritation after starting to shave that area with the Cattaraugus. I was posting on here soon after the shave. After passing back by a mirror I checked my neck, and all was well. Only a tiny bit of redness on my lower right, which is a trouble spot. So the irritation wore off. That was a good sign!

No shave today. I'll be back at it tomorrow morning. I may try the new-to-me Dubl Duck Satinedge that I won in the raffle. I don't want to try too many razors, but that's the one I own as opposed to borrowing, so I feel I need to try it out and see how it shaves.

Doubly inspired shave came together this morning. I've been seeing the bar handle New long comb Gillettes left & right lately. After enjoying a hybrid Fatip this was the vintage choice. Then there was talk about Derby's and Arko. All in here! Big boar and Turkish soap go well in a wetter that usual straight style lather. Didn't take but a couple strokes to find the angle of attack. Three passes later I only had one nick on my chin. I'd call that a win considering it's my first time on this razor. Mostly CCS, very smooth on my neck where alum was only moderately warm.
I'd like to thank all the Enablers for drawing my attention to this Vintage Hero, and my Antique dealer for putting it in my path.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

IMG_5329.JPG While reorganizing my shave stuff yesterday, I found a razor I had gotten four or five months ago, and hadn't used. This razor has a Tech hotdog head and a old style OC, with a fat handle from the tech. I also have baseplates from a New SC OC and a triangle Tech for my set. The razor has been plated in satin nickel and looks great. Since I was using a safer razor, I went with 'Merica's blade from Japan. I caught the baby, but he ended up a little bloody. There is. Reason newbies are warned away from these blades. Good news is it should be smoother and less bitey tomorrow. Going to rotate through the baseplates for the rest of the month. If it works out, this will be the only DE set I keep. Two and a half passes with amazing lather. Alum was very hot, didn't stretch on my neck enough and got 10 or so weepers. Thayers calmed it down, and the Jaboan balm did wonders. I am realizing that with good skin stretching on every pass, I maybe able to shave daily. Off to finish my Christmas shopping.
