Reminds me of the story about the man standing on the ledge of a skyscraper, ready to end it all. The policeman trying to talk to him says, "I don't know what to tell you". "There's a priest here who wants you to pray for guidance, and a reporter from the paper who wants you to aim for that wrought iron fence".

December 25 - Supply Provision Sunday

Supply Provision Single Edge stainless injector / vintage Schick Chromium (2)
    Supply Provision synthetic brush
    Supply Provision Juniper tallow soap
Alum and Supply Provision Juniper Post Shave Tonic

The usual good shave from this combination, now that I have figured out the correct angle to hold this injector razor.

An interesting thought... worst razor + worst blade... does that automatically mean disaster or does it completely collapse in on itself and tend toward ineffectiveness?

The Junjie is definitely a step down from the Rimei. Based on various forum posts, I'd say the Junjie is the one that unscrupulous sellers send in lieu of a Rimei. A strange bit of "bait and switch" given the low price of both items.

The big issue with this razor, as near as I can tell, is that the baseplate is just too damn thin. I've seen people disparage the Sterling for being made of mystery metal, but it is downright generous compared to the Junjie. The razor itself is, I think, very mild but the thin baseplate creates a situation where finding the right angle is very touchy. Too much angle and it feels like you are trying to shave with the SB itself.

I actually think that the issues I had trying to shave with this razor were not with the blade but with trepidation over the idea that I might injure myself on the safety bar. Very odd sensation- It would feel like I had just made some catastrophic error that would result in a bloody gash from the blade when, in fact, all I had done was drag the SB a bit with no actual damage.

Neal, I think I still have your address (assuming it hasn't changed since the last thing I sent you). I'll try to get the other one out to you next week for future shenanigans. :)

    Merry Christmas :santa

Pre-Shave: Hot shower with Bath & Body Works Noir for Men, followed by VDH Shave Butter w/hot towel
Shave Cream: Stone Cottage Soapworks Bay Lime Shaving Cream
Razor: 1971 Gillette Super Adjustable 109
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Green
    Brush: Omega 6212 Silvertip
Post Shave: Hot/Cold water rinse, Alum block, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
After Shave: Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

I've been wet shaving since this past April. Today I achieved for me what I consider a near perfect shave. I last shaved Thursday morning, so there was a nice growth on my face. I loaded a 7 O'Clock Green in the SA-109, dialed her up to "8" and had at it. WTG, went smooth as silk. The blade was singing it's song. For the second pass, XTG cheeks and chin, ATG neck, I dialed down to "6". NO touch up. Totally silent alum block. Man oh man. No matter what Santa brings later, I got my present today.
I wish all of you fine folks a Merry Christmas surrounded by friends and family. Don't eat too much(you'll just have to work it off next week). I'm out.

Some people say cops are heartless. Having been one, I dispute that. But we can be for lack of a better term thoughtless. Old-timer I worked with told me this story which I think was BS but I'll pass it along. Guy named Brown dies at work, cop goes to the house, knocks on the door. Wife answers. Cop looks at her and says: "Are you the widow Brown?"

I believe it collapses in creating a shaving black hole. The gravity is so strong that only the worst of the worst can survive, so it becomes a dystopian world of Williams and Marvy soaps, Junjie and Rapira razors, and Flying Eagle and Tiger blades.

Broke out the old Tech to compare with Friday's bloody shave this one is more rough looking, but has the Triangle holes in the baseplate. Much better shave, teo and a half pass and DFS, almost BBS. Hope today is a great day for everyone!

Fantastic shave this morning. Great smelling and protective lather out of the Cinder. The Rapira PL was very sharp in the New SC and proved why it is my favorite Mostochlegmash blade. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
