Occam’s Razor w Nacet (3)
TGN Finest / Maple
SV Cubebe combo
3rd day with the Occam’s DE, 2nd with the partial OC/Scalloped base plate. Such a different feel from the mild/EJ like head to this one. Did a little reading and there are folks who think this one is a little less smooth than the full scalloped one. I’ll try that one soon, too! I have a little sandpaper left on my lower neck, but overall an excellent end to the year with this top notch scent.
I’ve really enjoyed my two focusses this month. I have focused on DE razors that missed SE September, OC October and only got one day in NO repeat November. That meant a heavy dose of Gillette Techs and TTOs, with a side dish of this Occam’s and my stunning Floating Head. For the Decadent part? A steady diet of SV, Chatillon Lux and Maol products fit the bill. I also tried to finish off the same two soap tubs I’ve been working on a day a week, but they continue to hold on.
This was another great year on the thread. I am so thankful I stumbled in here a little over 3 years ago. I don’t know what I would do without the camaraderie, knowledge, compassion, advice and humour of the fine gentlemen who populate our little corner of civility on the internet. I wish you all nothing but the best in 2020, and each of you has earned and deserved any good fortune that comes your way.
Have a great New Year’s Eve and Day, all!
Thank you, Jason! May every good thing come your way in 2020!
Jason, great shave and you are part of the crew for sure. I appreciate you being with us and looking forward to many of your shaves in 2020.
O.K. I cannot hold my excitement any longer. Please check out Evan's @MrEE work at :
The FuzzTech has been replated as most of y'all know but check out the wood storage box he made for the FuzzTech. I am just amazed and greatful for Evan's work. He has taken the humble FuzzTech and showed it some serious love.
Going big to end the year! Awesome. I always love that Romera as well, Keith. As you know, that brush has inspired a few of my own designs.
Off to look up the Spadson! What an assassin it sounds like, Jeff! I’m looking forward to seeing your razors during your upcoming focus.
Safe travels to your wife as well.
What? No yellow on your brush?
That Enoch sounds like a great razor, indeed, Jim.
Love the new sign, Gary! That razor is such a stunner, perhaps the most beautiful Gillette.
As usual, I always look forward to your recaps, Clint. Awesome!
Is it just me, or are you using more Synthetics than you have in previous years?
Have fun with your friends tonight, Joe!
Great looking shave, Danny! You must really like the TFS soaps, especially with your new one as well.
Very nice, Terry. I like the Hawk as well. No kids tomorrow?
Great packaging. Very classy, Danny.
Be safe out there tonight, Mr. Czar...
Thanks Jason. I have not tried TFS soaps yet. The Abbate Y La Mantia (produced by TFS) Vulcano will be my first. I'll give it a run in the morning.
Sorry, I assumed the ATT soap you used today is a TFS soap as well; usually Made in Italy Razorock soaps are TFS products. Does it say differently on the back?
Jason, I will check when I get home. You are right about the Razorock soaps. I had forgot about that.
I’ll be using it, but not regularly! I don’t anticipate it ever becoming a daily driver.
I get it! It’s a great soap, and if I had my druthers, I’d probably use it every day!
If you find anything please let me know! There doesn’t seem to be much info on the razor. All I know is that it’s French and dates to the 30’s.
Congratulations, Gary. Nice to have you around here.
Excellent shave, Sensei. Happy New Year!
Quality shave, Danny. Happy New Year!
Great shave, Terry. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Jason.
Great finish to 2019, Neal. Happy New Year!
Love the new razor, Jason. Happy New Year.
Thanks Joseph and happy New Year to your and your family!
