Nothing like a little SUBTLE Sunday morning enablement, Clint! Once Jim (@jluc) sees shiny, he’s a goner! ;)

Thanks, Joe! The Spadson removed the top couple of epidermal layers, but other than that, the straight shave was awesome! Literally ‘whisker-melting’! Enjoy your Sunday and your shaves! :)

I am up and moving early this Sunday morning. I am leaving shortly to work at a client site all day. My goal is just to survive through year end. I find this time of year more stressful than tax season. At least I was able to get a relaxing Decadent December shave in before going to work. The Thäter brush is so soft its like face lathering with a badger cloud. Paired with the MdC Vetyver the lathering experience is elevated to another level. I find this smokey earthy scent intoxicating. @Hembree Sorry Danny I really don't have an ugly razor per se, so I will go with industrial looking instead. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby with ease. A splash of Fine Green Vetiver and I am set for the day. The wife came in as I was typing this and commented on how great I smelled. I am counting that as a huge win.

Lovely shave photo and report, Clint! I like MdC Vetiver as well, but find the post shave drying! Enjoy your day and stay safe! :)

Today's shave was the opener of the ZingariMan soap-a sampler(chunk, really) that was kindly sent by a gentleman who knows his name, thus no need to publicize the thing. (Thanks, "you-know-who-you-are" :). It's Sego-The Watchman(stormy dark seas). I did a few rounds of loading to get the suds going. Probably will take a few shaves to get into the block itself. Gradually I felt set to work my face&neck. The first pass was on the dry side-could have been what led to a cut/Knick in the middle of S. Porcupine Alley. But I knew that with additional brush/soap work, the soap would be more moist second time around. Minus the Knick, my face and neck felt real good with this soap. 2nd and 3rd passes(did he say 3rd? He certainly did) were much better-helped me get into the "shave groove" more with this block. I knew that the feature scent would come from the soap-a nice cologne-type scent), and it was with that in mind that I went "scent-neutral" with the aftershave(Stoylin Unscented). But overall a real good shave, again minus the Knick. Stoylin being Stoylin, I knew I'd get a quality close with the A.S. Most Excellent.

Every so often, a razor decides to show the user/operator who's
    boss. :kar:
Today was just that kind of day. :kngt:
All of the stars were slightly out of alignment.
    1) The facial hair I am current sporting, includes a bottom lip to chin soul patch.
    2) My mustachio has grown very long on the edges so I can style it à la Hercules Poirot.
    3) The Dovo 91 has a French Point that is deadly.
    4) The A&E soap is not the slickest snot in the nasal passage.
First the lather. Looks good, but lacked density...i.e. too much hydration. :shocked003: Whoda thunk :signs002:

I have to think I need to take the Dovo to the finishing stones.
Smoothness was not in its vocabulary today...indeed it was rough.
Navigating around the soul patch/goatee, led to two "gotchas", one requiring a styptic pencil treatment. :angry019:
Jabbed again just on the inside of my left sideburn. :angry019:

At this point (pun intended), I took @Keithmax advice and abandoned the ship.
To top it off, I come downstairs, Dr. Mrs. Primo greets me with: "I am not sure I like that smell" :angry019:

Sorry your shave was not up to snuff, Maestro! Love the spine work on the razor! French Points can be a challenge if one hasn’t shaved with them in a while. It certainly was the opposite of an ‘ugly’ razor! I’m sure you’ll get it shaving beautifully! Enjoy your Sunday! :)

Thank you Jeff.....I'd never worked before with a real small sampler, thus it was a "work-in-progress", but all the while my face and neck felt quite good.

Don't worry David. The only sharp tools allowed in the 30DC forum are razors. Knives are checked at the door.

    Ugly Razor Day!

    20201130_102058.jpg
As found picture. I got this razor in a junk lot. This razor was covered in some kind of tar/creosote coating. After soaking it in mineral spirits for half a day I finally got down to what was left which was not pretty. I then lightly bead blasted the razor and this is what you see before you. What is surprising is how smooth the mechanisms is.

The no-notch Super Speed really surprised me this morning. First time shaving with this one and it was a nice smooth three passer with an Astra. I know it is hard to believe looking at this razor but it was a nice shave. I think I'm going to have to find one in better shape now. I would rate this as an awesome shave.

Thank you Jeff. I use witch hazel with aloe, lanolin, glycerin and menthol after each shave so I don’t notice any drying from MdC.
