Superb lineup and photo staging, Clint! These Old World products are appealing in many ways.
I am enjoying this cold snap, but it needs to move on soon.

Don't despair, Evan, there'll be about a 10-15 yr gap, but then you'll have a passel of grandkids to cuddle! It's even more fun, because when they get cranky, you just hand them back to their parents with a wink, remembering your parents doing the same. :D

Yeah, I am going to pass on the 7 day Decadent, instead go with the 2 Day Decandent, with a few repeat performances later in the month.

I don't eat much pasta as I used to in my younger days. Don't get me wrong. I love pasta, but somehow I stayed away from it.

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you, David. Hopefully, the softguard blades will help speed the shavette mastery.

    Thanks, Evan!
Like I've always said, anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
The Blackland Tradere is a favorite if not the favorite in my collection. It's all YMMV.

    Baume.be~~Simpson CH3~~1958/D3 Gillette Adjustable/Sharp Star
I have owned and sold a fair number of Simpson CH3 shave brushes and they all

share on particularly annoying trait: they are major lather hogs.
That is until I found this one. :)
This brush dates back to the 80's and has a wonderful Best Badger knot.
You know the Best Badger hair that is luxuriously
    soft...bunny rabbit soft.
Plus, the knot, while sporting an incredible amount of hair, does not belong to
that SHD club, like so many brushes on today's market.
The loft is a bit taller than the typical 2:1 ratio, so the knot will "bend",
thereby "squeezing" the lather out of the knot and onto the skin.
Speaking of lather, today, once again and until it's used up, the Belgian cream was called
upon to coat my stubble and prepare it for removal.

Razor du jour was the first production year Gillette Adjustable.
I used the same Sharp Star blade and set the razor to "9".
4 passes today, which included left to right and right to left neck passes.
Wowsers! What smoothness and ZERO irritation.
Finished with my favorite, albeit discontinued Witch Hazel: Thayer's Medicated.
This bottle was sent to me by Tim @timabababaluka whom we haven't heard from recently.
I am sure you will all join me in sending him our best wishes and hopes that he and his family are ok.
Completed the shave with my favorite of the Ralph Lauren Polo line:
    Polo Green. Excellent juice.

    Thank you Perry.

Thank you Joe. I really don't like cold weather much at all. When I retire, I am moving some place warmer than Georgia

Thank you Andrew. I find myself enjoying the old world products more each day. It is nice not to have to keep up with the latest scent or latest soap base. I find that very appealing. I will keep some artisan stuff around but I am working the majority out of the den.

Started a run with the Floating Head earlier this morning. What a great razor. 3 passes to near perfection. Smelling pretty decently as well...Decadent? Maybe. Evan's brush certainly makes it feel so. The 2 bed knot is a winner as well. Think a fan version of a tuxedo with a little more softness and quite a bit more splay.
    Have a great day all!

Lovely Homelike Shave, Jim! Love how shiny you keep your safety razors! Great close-up! Enjoy your day, and stay safe and healthy! We're keeping the embroidered silk waistcoats with your and JoeC's names ready for you! Planning is beginning on the MOLC initiation. Just remember when you're asked to jump on the broken glass from the desktop that they're really just potato chips! :happy005:
