any reason why? (tho I don't do this anyhow)

Save yourself some possible heartache by exfoliating lightly the next day or two in a row. Ingrowns are possible, and very not fun in that area.

Very true. "Manscaping" is very on trend. Many guys <30 regularly shave/trim underarms & chest hair. There's a huge market for electric body shavers. Even specialized ones for reaching back hair. Popular unisex depilatories have been developed for pubic hair, as discussed in another thread. Sports, body building, film & media may all have a role.

I would think trimming would be a happy medium, as ingrowns & frequent stubble can't be fun. :(

At least over here, the block is also available as a liquid pump spray. I find this form to be especially effective.

Due to sulfuric (spellplate) developed on a alum block that should corrode the metal.

It seems stainless steel is not affected, which my bowl is made of. Haven't had any issues yet.

'round these parts it starts with the 40-somethings. Tho the hipsters and some college age seem to not care much.

I actually use a block that was designed for pit use, so it comes in a cylindrical shape and has a plastic handle/base with a plastic dome to cover.

Eeesh... true confession time.... my back was never that hairy (but, yeah laser treatments! -- just some baby fuzz left), but back in the day I tried one of those things. Not only are they awkward to use, but they take a nice scratch out of your back if you get the angle wrong.

    Status so far.

I've tried the block since my initial post.

I usually shower once a day followed by the block. That means up to 24 hours between appliance.

I register no odor what so ever. SWMBO doesn't register any either.

I've worked (we have very warm humid climate at work), I've cleaned the house, mowed the lawn, washed the cars, etc etc. That alum block is very very effective on me so far!

    Great :)

So, is the lawn the only thing that got, um, mowed?

Yup, just wetting the pits thoroughly with the block :)
