The rock doesn't actually have to be sharp if it's from Russia.

Part of me wants to shave with it, but if I do it won't be NOS any more. Since the blades are hard to find, I just don't know.

That's why you buy two - one to keep pretty and NOS..and one to use :D

I would've said you should shave with it, then I saw it and I think nobody should ever shave with it! Great find. Thanks for the opening up pics!

I've actually read some rather positive reports from people shaving with it (albeit using a modified modern blade and not the NOS blade...)

I think it's a neat razor. If it was me I would try to shave with it. IMHO, the experience is worth more than the status of the razor. Anyways, if you do end up shaving with it I would be interested to hear about the experience. Thanks for sharing.

Thread Resurrection ! Picked one up and it's inbound. Hoping to modify a modern blade to the width that will work and shave with it.

One of my favorite SE razors.
Here is a Personna GEM with the spine removed.
Put the front in first then with 2 fingers pull in the back.
You can clip off the 2 dangerous tits off if you need to. But I don't get close to them when loading the blade.
The handle on mine swells when you get it wet from using it. This makes it very hard to separate the 2 pieces. If you just letit set out a day.the wood handel will dry out and shrink. Then you can separate them for storage.

    Thats a great find.
    A surprisingly great razor too.

    Enjoy
