I think there's a ringer in ther somewhere..But I can't place it... I like to go back to the pic just for Razor porn Tom
I don't think 15 is anything more than grey/silver colored celluloid or bakelite. I'm going with # 16 only because a lot of the Sheffield blade makers put out Americana motifs to sell here, so 16 might be a higher end Sheffield blade, maybe a nicer W & B? But that is strictly a guess. I'm certainly no expert! Not even close. Bill, nice shot as usual. :1respect
I don't see any covered tang or shank.. Soooo Hmmmm I still say it's 15. Sterling Silver Like new or NOS Tom
Welcome to The Shave Den, goatshaver! I'll guess #13, cause I like "unlucky" numbers. That's just how I is. Besides, if I look too closely at the picture, somebody's gonna yell at me.
#15 has aluminum scales and is worth somewhere around $375+. I got it about a year ago. There are several others in the pile worth more than that. As far as painting. If they have at least 60% original color on them, don't paint. You will lose value. I have used acrylic paints to restore some, but not with the intent of the razor being used and getting wet. I'm not sure if getting the razor wet all the time will make the paint peel. Maybe an oil based paint would be more durable. Here is one that I painted...
I would have said #15 before Bill's post now I have to go with #7 or #9 The ladies always fetch a high price it seems and these seem like they are the least touched.
7 just to see more of the nude on the handle..What detail! I'll say #1 just cause it has more colors than the others and looks well preserved ???????? Tom
Bill No 16 isn`t that the set of scales you tryed to rip off from you good pal Loy Kind regards Peter
Since the quize master is being kind and giving us all another shot , I got to go for 13 ,I know its unlucky for some but it my birth date, and since your being generous I want 1 mark for being right about the aluminium Kind regards Peter::
