I have a 1963 Ball End Tech and I use it pretty regularly. Its just a razor, nothing really magical about it when shaving my face. However, it really shines when it comes to shaving my head. It fits my hand well and the short handle is pretty maneuverable when I am shaving on the hidden half of my skull.
Not sure, I haven't shaved with it yet as I just purchased it last night. I went in to an Antique store that I peruse on occasion and the proprietor said, "I brought back some razors for you from Texas." I looked through and found a really nice F2 Flare Tip Super Speed, and a W4 Black Handled Flair Tip Super Speed. The W4 is my birth year, although it's not my quarter. It's nice when you get a relationship with places and they are on the look out for you like that.
Yes even at 9, I could never get a smooth shave. My favorite razors are 2011 R41, Futur, ATT H plate and Cobra Classic.
Patrick....Check it out...hot off the press.. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/fs-lots-o-razors.36176/ What about your Dad's or Grand Dad's birth year razor?? My Pop's birth year razor see more action in my shave cave than any razor I've got...
My dad was born in '64 and my grandpa (RIP) was born in '28. I have plenty of options, just have to do more searching.
Wow....your Grand Dad's Ever Ready would be the ER 1924 'Shovelhead'! Thats a fantastic shaver! The GEM would be one of the GEM 1912's. Some call these the greatest razor design of all time...His Gillette is super cool aswell, the 'New Improved' is arguably the best Gillette ever....His Schick birth year would be the B type Repeater; too cool for school.....Man, you are lucky, it's all good... And of course for your Pop, the first one to pop in my head would be the '64 Gillette Slim Adjustable....Thats the same year as the one James Bond used in Goldfinger...ha,ha...And afterward Pussy Galore said, "You do like a close shave don't you..."
