I have to agree with @Douglas Carey, I have several brushes, each different brush I have lathers differently in some soap that I am trying. I got some soap from @ Salty Belle, My W/D 30/65mm Silver Tip Knot, lathers the soap differently than my "Old Corps & Oscar11" 28/65mm TGN Super Finest Knot. The same goes for my "Oscar11" 24/48mm TGN Super Finest. I believe it does make a difference. I really think part of it is the amount of water that the brush retains. I forgot to say that one of my brushes is one of of my Most Cherised possessions. It was sent to me to try out by @oscar11 he did not know me from adam for that matter he just sent it to me to try out, Not only that I do not really know him but I consider him a True friend. "Semper Fi" I have several different soaps that I am trying, The soaps in my opinion are great soaps. I have been using the same brush on the soaps. I find it to be a matter of different strokes for different folks I think the biggest point of a brush making a difference, depends on the QUALITY of the brush. As said by @Lo'Gosh or as I say and several other folks on this forum YMMV ! The soaps that I am testing all lather very well. here is my dilemma Of the soaps I am testing, the brushes I am using are being used in this order My "Whipped Dog" 30/65mm Silver Tip Badger Black&White Marbled Resin Handle * {My Preferred Brush} "Old Corps"& "Oscar 11" 28/65mm TGN Finest Badger F-2 Knot Resin Handle Brush * {This is my go to Brush} "Oscar11" 24/48mm TGN Super Finest Black& White Resin Handle ** {This is my Favorite Travel Brush & Most Cherished } I do need to re-think which of my brushes is my Preferred and or Favorite. I can say this under no uncertain terms each one of my brushes lathers one of the soaps significantly differently! But they all lather one of the soaps exactly the same ! I do believe that when these soaps become available for people to purchase they will a Run-Away hit, at least I like them. I will post a review for all to read, By the end of this month June, the beginning of July. (I hate spellcheck! )
Excellent post, thanks for your insight. I think I will focus on those for the rest of the month. Same brush different soaps or creams. Thanks Patrick.
No I have not sure miss doing that. Want to move to the desert, I do not Longboard anymore (surf), want to get the metal detectors out and start using them. Feel better in dry heat. Next I need to learn how to use an Obnoxisous looking Shaving Scuttle that I won in a great and generous PIF from some Old Jarhead. @Douglas Carey when I conquer that task, I will post pictures. Note I really do need some coffee I had to re-edit this post just now! 1046hrs. PDT
Did you put boiling water in the bottom bowl? That helps me keep the soap nice and warm. Can't wait to see your pictures.
I agree that the more brushes the merrier but I have to say that the closest soap that I have found to be "Perfect" is Martin de Candre. This superb soap works equally well with any brush that I have used with it. Just to let you know I have about 20 different brushes and over 90 soaps of all kinds. I find the best bushes that I have are the Simpson Chubby 2 Best Badger, Whipped Dog Silvetrtip Badger w/ Butterscotch handle contersunk an extra 5mm for added backbone, Plisson Synthetic from L'Occitane, and my wonderful Whipped Dog 30mm Syntheic on a Blue Handle. My best soaps and close to perfect are Martin de Candre (Regular Scent), Catie's Bubbles LPV, Razorock for Chicago, and Shaver Heaven Hubba Hubba but Martin is the best of them. It's insane how these products pile up over time but man I love it!
