I thought I caught a leprechaun once but it was just a redheaded midget in a green T-shirt. That is the last time I drink two pitchers of green beer on St. Patrick's day. So since there is no pot of gold to share I guess I'm in instead.

I'm in. I'm out of creativity today. Every time I try to think limerick, it always comes back to "There once was a man from Nantucket" or "There once was a gaucho named Bruno."

Very nice PIF... and a very fun theme!

So far, I think only @trey06dmd has cleared the limerick bar. You other hacks butchered the art form!

Speaking of hacks, here's my stab at limerick butchery... (<— pun intended! )

I used to use a "cart."
The shaves weren't worth a fart.
Now my shaves are all wet.
Are they better? You bet!
And I love shaving with all of my heart.

 

Yep, you butchered it. Technically, lines 3 and 4 should be shorter than 1, 2, and 5.

 

Not in cos not Conus . But a great PIF and a wonderful idea.

I'm in!
A short while back,
I hadn’t the knack,
And turned away from those sharp DE blades.
I used disposable things,
That gave me horrible stings,
Now I have safety razors in all sorts of lovely shades!

 

Shaving used to be such a chore
Getting robbed for supplies at the store
Then the ruble went down
Russian blades I have found
Smooth my face, then I head out the door!

Shaving limericks aren't that hard to make
Give your brush a soak and a shake
Lather up and apply
Scrape it off, WATCH THAT EYE!
Or an eye patch you'll wear, Goodness Sakes!

I used to use goo on my face
Before finding a substitute paste
Whip it up in a bowl
And don't be a troll
See, soap's better in every case!

I've been diagnosed with RAD, what a fright!
I'm on the Bay, searching razors just right.
As the minutes count down
I place my bid down
Only to lose to a snipe!

Shall I go on?...

OK, I like the limerick idea so much I created another thread for just Shaving Limericks. Please post your limericks there too.... (you can repost the one you did here or make a new one, but it's year round instead of limited to a PIF).
