I don't think the one on the left is a Merkur 42c. I think it's a much less quality knock off of the 1904.

Boy it got quiet in here. Are we out of ideas? Two more days and it's been close, very close for a couple of you. Not saying we don't have a winner yet but we definitely don't have 3!

Ok, time for my final, final answer:

    Ri Mei and Long Feng.

(Any other coattails out there looking for a passenger?)

I am also revising my answer. Yes I know I said final before.

Final final: Ri,Mei model 2003 and Long Feng clone of the 1904 Merkur.

As an aside, this is what comes up as the only result when you search Amazon for "Long Feng razor":

Could it be that that's how the Long Feng feels when you shave with it?

    We Have WINNERS!!!!!

I was about to post again that @Mr. Shaverman had provided a great hint and that you shouldn't take too long to figure it out as it ends tomorrow.....and BAM we had the last two winners jump on it. Here are the razors in their respective cases.
    rimei and long feng.jpg
On the left...the RiMei A2002....not the 2003 as @Shotwell thought....however I didn't ask for model numbers so that won't count off. On the right, the Long Feng a very cheap knockoff of the 1904 Merkur. It weighs about, oh, nothing. Notice also you get a blade with each razor. I'm considering loading them up in the near future to see how each performs. However, sanity may prevail this time.

Great job guys....a lot of you had the RiMei as it went on but the Long Feng confused as I thought it might. Interesting trivia...I bought these razors for the following: The ReMei was $2.88, the Long Feng $2.95 and that included shipping from China. So less than $6 for both. Yes, I know, I may have overpaid.

And now, on to the winners! First place was an early entry.......and I loved that nobody jumped on board early with him. I kind of laughed how it was only the 11th post that @Aleksey very quietly answered correctly, then shut up. Great job. @Aleksey will get to choose three of the 6 blades offered. I'll be PMing! And will let everyone know which he chooses.

Second place - This guy has the most amazing luck I have seen in awhile. The most recent winner of the Newbie Give-Away in which he won some great prizes along with 25 Russians, and now he jumps in as a newbie and latches on to answer second. It's our newest @FatherofSquirrel in the PIF world ............... @Rufus T. He will be choosing two of the remaining three blades.

And finally, our RiMei expert who so diligently dug out the wrong model number but who also landed everyone on the correct answer for that razor..... @Shotwell who will receive the final blade left.

There you have it - and to recap

    1. @Aleksey
    2. @Rufus T.
    3. @Shotwell

Congrats to the winners and thanks for playing guys! Until the next PIF I wish you all wonderful shaves!

    a) Great PIF and grats to all the winner, and
    b) I wonder how large @Rufus T. 's front teeth are.

Thanks so much @NCoxSTL for doing this PIF. (Yes I am happy that I was one of the winners, but it it was more for the challenge, which I most enjoyed!)

Yes Neal, luck had something to do with it. I'm on somewhat of a lucky streak this year. Just three months ago I won a brand new $1000. Napoleon charcoal grill! and just yesterday my number gets pulled for the May Newbie PIF (which included so much cool shaving stuff for a true novice just starting out...including more Russian blades!) so yes I've been blessed and on a roll.

That said - I did some homework on this and attempted to utilize my investigatory skills in an area where I know nothing of the jargon, terms or gear. (But like the rest of this group I soon had SWMBO already complaining about all the time I spend on this site!)

I'd like to think that my investigation carried the day for me, but in the end I realize that if this had been a PIF that required the answers to be sent by private message to the PIFer - I'd have never gotten any of them. So within the rules of the PIF I did my homework. Within the frame of a knowledge base - I didn't deserve to win and Neal is correct - I'm a very lucky guy!

Thanks to @ShotGun and his first response. I found that he was dead onto the Rimei.

and to @Aleksey congrats on the win, I'm in awe of your knowledge. Once Shotgun had given me the Rimei and I realized that was a certainty, I just found the rest right in front of me.

And by the way @Darkbulb at my age, I've already been fitted for dentures, so my oversized two front teeth have been replaced!

Happy to be part of this fun group!

Thanks for this great contest, it was fun!
Rimei was easy but I needed to refresh my memory about Long Feng. It looks like a breed of 42C and Yuma razor.
I will add my thoughts of those blades I chose.
