what kind of problems you having captain?

 

Getting rid of bad habits learned from 28 years of shaving with a cartridge razor.
I am nicking my self alot less. I am getting irritation but I think its from what I read from going over an area a second time during a pass. Today was my 4th day shaving with a DE razor. I will not give up. Hoping taking a break tomorrow will help my face out

 

Ic ic, It is good to give your face a break in my opinion. Specially If your this new to DE shaving! Do you use any kind of pre-shave oils? If not this helps out tremendously with irritation. It provides an extra layer of protection against the sharp blades DE's have. These tips always helped me out and you do have to train yours face to get use to this type of shaving. You might also try not to go against the grain until your confident you face is able to handle the extra pass. I only do a one pass shave cause of irritation issues maybe 2 at the most if I missed a little in spots. An alum block after you shave helps with the irritation also by cleaning out cuts and pores were you shaved over. A good moisturizing after shave is always nice to!

 

Your equipment has a lot to do with it also again "in my opinion" I think cheap razors often have cheap results.

Not in, I have a FatBoy and Slim adjustable now, very good pif!

 

I'd love to be in I'm currently using a 1972 Aluminium handled Gillette Tech that belonged to my Grandfather and it seems way too mild and its far too tempting to use pressure to get a cleaner shave, I would love an adjustable but unfortunately due to illness funds won't allow it as it takes more or less every penny just to keep myself and the house going on.
