I just rinse well, dip the head of the razor in alcohol, and put it back in the rack. After the blade begins to feel a little tuggy, usually around shave 4, I pitch it and load a new one.

I used to have a ritual, now it’s a rinse a shake and a dip in isopropyl. Wipe down the exterior and place it in the rack

Really does go faster without sacrifice of a young goat each morning. Faster clean up too!

Blade maintenance? I don’t think so Tim. I do remove the blade from the razor, rinse it off, then hang it to dry in the cabinet. Then rinse the razor and wipe it off. But maintaining the blade? Accurately counting shaves? Nope. They’re cheap.

I do check to see if any soap is left on the blade. Easy on a TTO, more work with a 3pc. After cleaning gunk from garage sale razors I treat my gear with enough respect to keep them clean. Haven't tried stropping a DE blade, don't think I ever will. Early on I counted shaves with each brand of blade to get an idea how long different brands last. Now I shave until they tug then toss em.

I just give my razors a swish or dunk in 70% Isopropyl Alcohol every few shaves. This is more to keep it clean.
