Not in the plans right now. But if people love it I'm not opposed to making that happen. I'm sure Robert wouldn't be against that. Let me know your opinion of it. I really like it. When you use it give it a smell before and then compare it to the scent while you lather. I found that it changes quite a bit and that was really cool to me.
Message from Command and control (wife) confirmed the bird has landed... Sadly I won't be home till the evening
...and we are live on Badger&Blade. http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/477883-The-Blackland-Blackbird-Razor-has-landed!?p=7912031#post7912031 The internet will explode in 3...2...1. I will update that thread as more thoughts come to mind. I usually set mine on three, so I find the Blackbird moderately aggressive, but not overly so.
You can always tack on the long handle later. Personally, I really like the shorty. I've literally never met anyone with bigger hands than me and the 70mm still works for me. It lets me get awesome head control that I enjoy. I'm biased, of course.
I wasn't trying to say I wouldn't like the short handle. In fact I can't wait until tomorrow morning to give the razor (including short handle) a test drive. I'm just wondering if I will regret not getting both as part of the original order.
Baseless lies. I was going for color match, not grain match, and the color match is perfect. My cousin asked me if I thought the Blackbird was overpriced. I told him, "expensive, certainly, but not overpriced." It really is a pity the wood boxes are not a permanent part of the razor's presentation. It's easily the best packaging found on a modern razor. (and that includes the One Blade's hand stitched, Italian leather case and steel stand). I thought the lack of finger notches around the handles might be an issue, but they are set to a perfect depth, so it's not an issue trying to remove them. Edit: Nice touch with the bag o' blades, BTW. It added an unnecessary touch of class to the whole thing. Throw a brush in there and it would look like a $500 executive shaving kit.
That makes your box more exclusive! We abstained from the finger notches because they're unsightly. Instead, the route under the end of the handle is cut deeper so you can push it down and the head will pop up for you to grab.
As someone who has both - the OneBlade and Blackbird - I do agree with that. The OneBlade box ended up...hmm...not quite sure where it is now..oops.....as it's not really practical to keep it in the box all the time - but I keep the Blackbird in its wooden box on the shelf and it looks great And I'm not even a box-guy!
Mine arrived today as well. the Box was a great touch and the the bag o blades was clever. Great job Shane.
the PIC doesn't show it well but the base plate is the satin stainless with the black top cap and handle hopefully this shows up better that the previous post
Oh yea that razor looks absolutely awesome when it's assembled! When I set that one up I remember thinking "this guy picked a bad ass color scheme".
Just a question =) thats true though it doesnt look right. And as Shane has confirmed. Im very impressed about Shanes positive attitude. We need more of that in our Would haha
