I don't use alcohol based aftershaves. I use plain unscented witchhazel sometimes and I use Nivia balms. There used to be a Gillette balm that was really nice but I haven't seen it since my oldest child was a baby. If I could find it I would get some more.

I'm fond of these as well. Just stay away from the Czech version. Eeeew.

I'm also digging the TSD samples I got last week.

    Which Gillette...the Cool Wave?

Before Aqua Velva became an aftershave, it WAS Listerine, most probably.

Balms might be better in the wintertime-I'll test my Rise with this in mind(though I've been using it from time to time since the "shipment" arrived in early June.

I didn't think those Barbasols were that big. I may have to be on the lookout for them.

I used Bay Rum this morning(Stephan's), figuring it would be comfortabe enough with the drop of humidity.

What's really nice is the price....less than $2 a bottle at the General :happy088: Great menthol kick and a great powdery scent on the drydown. This smells like Skin Bracer should....

Good review, thanks. But it's interesting, as I once read a review on Skin Bracer that said SB is what Aqua Velva SHOULD be.
