I'm looking to try some tallow shaving soap but don't know where to start. So I thought I'd ask your opinions. Thanks Ken P
Stirling. There are several they make, that are favorites. I like the Stirling soaps more than Mitchell's Wool Fat.
Tabac! But the only other tallow soaps that I've tried are Arko and Palmolive classic, and out of the three Tabac is my favorite.
I've tried Tabac, Palmolive, and Arko, and I am sold on Arko. Some of us add a drop of "Kiss My Face" to get MaXX later, but either way it's great and a great price.
Mitchell's Wool Fat. Note: MWF be challenging for some to lather, but I'm impressed by this soap's superb performance. My favorite soaps are not tallow-based (MdC, Cade, Route 66, Institut Karite) but MWF is the one exception I make. Love many of the Stirling scents and have used numerous (at least a dozen or so) pucks, but I've always found the performance from these soaps not up to the level of the others listed above.
I usually do not pay much attention to tallow/ non tallow, but the soap I keep thinking about is Mystic Water. Fantastic lather, and some very nice scents to choose from.
Looks like a lot of people like Stirling's soap. The only soap I have at the moment is a puck of Ogallala Genuine Bay Rum Lime and Peppercorn Soap and a puck of Williams Mug Soap. Thanks everyone for your input. Ken P
My favourite tallow soap is Tabac. Great scent, excellent lather and the puck lasts forever and a day.
