Feather Blades -- is it me or are they very close in sharpness to ASTRA SP?

I could do ten passes with the astra and not get bbs. With feathers, I get bbs in 2 passes, along with irritation (no matter which razor or how good prep is).

I have found that hand stropping the feather blade gives me a better shave right out of the gate instead of that first shave being a little "course"

I always bought wilkinson swords at the drug store, using my grand dad's rocket. When I for some reason one day decided to look online to try to find out anything about that razor I found these TSD freaks :) lol! I shortly thereafter acquired my executive FB, a ball end tech and a 100 pack of Astra SP's on Amazon. That 100 pack was 8 bucks! Then the TSD clan got me thinking i had to try me a feather and again Amazon offered up a deal of 50 feathers for i think 12 bucksish. What did i find?...that feather blades are a waste of $$. YMMV.

When I first started wetshaving a year ago, I didn't bother to get a blade sampler pack, I went ahead and bought the 100 pack of Feather blades only because they were the sharpest on the market. I didn't know anything about YMMV at the time, i thought everybody's skin was the same. And it worked for a while. But I was having issues with the bottom of my neck, i was always nicking myself, and I kept getting razor bumps. At first I tried switching razors, alternating between several soaps, creams, different lathering techniques. Then one day I decided to maybe try a different blade, so I chose the Astra SP which is a step down. I was skeptical at first, I thought they'd be scratchy. Turns out they did the job fine, no problems with the neck, no bumps or anything. So now I'm a permanant convert of Astra SP.
