I went 3-4 drops in a whole bottle of Thayer's! Lol Then again, I just wanted "a hint" of menthol to let me know I was actually applying something.

I think the irritation from the first pass really was angle. I started by keeping it flush to the face and then dropping the handle but I realized I was dropping too far most times and so when I corrected and did not drop the handle much at all, I could really tell the difference in the feedback and the smoothness of the shave.

You are absolutely right though, it just annihilates the beard without any problem. The second pass was a much better pass today and I would compare it to the Bolzano blade in the DE. Very smooth and very close. Right now I am almost 10 hours after the shave and have very little growth back which is just great for me. I think when I get all the pieces together of right angle and no pressure from the start, BBS should be found and it will be a great long lasting shave.

Tell me about it. My wife has been responsible for some of it up here nearly the whole time we've been together. That is approaching 40 years my friend. ;)

Nothing kinky. I take shaving far to seriously.

Interesting little tidbit. I'll have to run that by the better half.

Awesome! It's all about the angle, and it makes a great travel razor for the reasons you listed.

I believe she'll verify. We get our water from the S Platte, and after all that water flows over miles of granite and soil on its way down, it hasn't traveled far enough to lose its accumulated minerals. I believe you're on aquifer water?

I think a mixture of that and high mountain reservoir water from the Poudre River system. Mostly the latter I believe but I'm sure I'll hear all about it if she's not too exhausted. Horsetooth goes mostly to Greeley I think.

Thought I'd start off my month of NF brushes with the smallest one I have - the 19mm, 2-band "1901".
One of the first 'travel' brushes Peter ever made.

Surprisingly good backbone (today was the first time I used it) but with very soft tips.
As a travel brush this is an outstanding option but as an in-home, everyday brush I do feel that the knot is just a tad too small for me. Having said that I'm sure that I will from time to time. :)

"Rating": A solid 6/10 - where the positive is the handle shape and knot and the 'negative' is that it's just a bit too small.

I was unaware. Water in my area is incredibly soft, most of the water in my area (San Luis Valley) is strictly snow melt.

But now that I think about it there is quite a bit of water from natural springs. Which tend to be heavy with minerals correct? I'm not much of a geology guy

    Weber PH

    Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic
    Route 66 Lumberjack
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine L'Orange Noir

My first shave with the Weber today was near BBS. WTG (face)/ATG (neck) on the first pass, ATG on the second pass, and minimal touch-ups. I immediately noticed the difference in weight between the Weber and the Super Speed. The Weber requires a bit of extra care to make sure that no pressure is applied. I had a good, but not an exceptional, lather using the synthetic brush. The Fine L'Orange Noir is always a nice finish to any shave. All things considered, not bad for the first day out with this set up. I'll have another go with it tomorrow. I hope you all have a fantastic week.

I changed up my next batch of photos. I need to come up with some better backgrounds. :)

Thanks! My water doesn't seem too hard. Never have issues with lather.

Thanks, that's helpful! I only have the tiny sample of M bomb. I probably need the bigger container or some menthol crystals. I've used an iced after shave the past two days and enjoyed it both times.

I iced my homemade lemongrass witch hazel. I used about 20 drops in my 3 oz bottle it isn't very chilly unless the fan is on and the rinse beforehand was cold.
