A nice, easy single pass shave this morning. I did not do any clean up, so I would rate this as a CCS. I actually would have called it DFS right after the shave, but I have noticed a few patches that I would have cleaned up right on my jaw line. The Fine Fresh Vetiver was a perfect top off to the shave. Have a great Monday.

    Focus day 22
Day 6 of open comb use and comparison

    Menthol Monday!

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Razor: Maggard MR1 handle with V2 open comb
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Proraso Green shave soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD SubZero aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

After the exhortations yesterday from @Rusty blade about GSBs I decided to give one another try. Wow! I don't know if it was the blade, the razor, or the combination of products, but it only took one full pass with touch-up to mow through two fulls days of beard growth. That was quite an enjoyable shave! The menthol from Proraso Green is nice, and then I doubled down with the SubZero splash from TSD. I enjoy the menthol kick on Mondays.

The open comb just seemed to annihilate the beard growth. My other OC shaves were one just one day's growth and I was interested to see how two days worth would fare. I was quite pleased to have it be mowed down efficiently and not have to go back over several times with touch-up passes.

Hope you all have a great day!

A very smooth 2 pass near BBS shave this morning. The Mongoose with a Feather Super is smoother than the AlumiGoose/Feather Super combo. Nearing the end of the CF Trade Winds and anticipate finishing it up before the end of the week. Finished off with Fine Platinum and I think I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Wonderful shave. TFS Sottozero is nice and slick, not bone cold but nice. The Blackbird is a joy to use, I like the long handle it gives me more control.

Pre: Shower, Sterling Pre-shave Soap, Noxema
    Soap: Route 66 Frozen Margarita
    Brush: Druida Manchurian
    Razor: The One Blade
    Blade: Gem Stainless Coated #1

Post: Sterling Black Ice Witch Hazel, Gold Bond Green, Krampert’s Frostbite

Icy smooth shave today. Two passes + clean up = Closeness A and Irritation A+. Route 66 my favorite new soap, easy to lather, great cushion and lubrication, and excellent skincare. Frozen Margarita smells great with a good chill. Druida manchurian is a top notch lather machine. One Blade is the 'Zamboni Razor' wiping the whiskers away leaving me smooth and shiny. Finished with a generous splash of Krampert's Frostbite Aftershave. I hope everyone is had a chilling Menthol Monday. Stay frosty my friends.

Wow!!! Day 2 with the Silver Blue and another awesome shave. This blade is amazing. :happy093: It hardly feels like there is a blade in the razor and yet it provides an amazingly close and smooth shave. When I started this blade trial I didn't really think I could find a better blade than the Astra SP...but...dare I say...it just might happen!

Did not shave yesterday so tried the Personna blade with two day's growth. I do believe it was smoother than yesterday but still not as smooth as the Chinese Schicks. I am not sure it is actually as sharp as the Chicks either but it is certainly close. Ended with a DFS+ shave and no irritation today. I am still on the fence about these blades. They give a good shave, not great. The Chicks are definitely better so far. Will give them another try tomorrow and then switch over to my J type.

I was lucky enough to find the GSB blade early on. It is a tremendous performer for me as well. It and the Bolzano blade are my clear top two, basically 1A and 1B, and since the GSB is cheaper and easier to get, well it is 1A for me!

Glad you are liking the GSB!

Last Mongoose shave of the month. I'm at the airport waiting to board a flight and have an Injector packed for the trip. The Mongoose turned out to be a very nice razor. It does have a steep learning curve and I tried three different blades before settling on the Feather Pro Super. This razor is a keeper.

Thank you my friend. I changed the last GEM SS out after 8 shaves only because I wanted to try one of the GEM SS Coated blades.

Craftsman Shave today. Used my 5/8 round tip Craftsman razor, and a Craftsman strop I found at an antique mall this weekend. DFS with very little irritation. Strop worked well. Both sides are shell leather, and seems hardly used. Seville soap and American blend aftershave, and a good shave was had. Happy Monday, all!
