I am gonna tell Neal that you dubbed his effort "the video silly." Style points for avant-garde name though!

That was the first one I didn't have to use over a dozen takes to get. Yeah, I think I'm offended. But.....let me check. Might just be lack of vodka.

    Less is more.

The soap is in a sandwich sized ziploc that didn't lend it's self to photography. Previous recipient of the soap pass around had to detub a couple to get the lid closed. I'll be adding more than I pull out. We need a box that's bigger on the inside.
I've already suggested this, but no one has showed up to help yet.

    AlumiGoose V1 with Triad SS
    Feather Pro (3)
Rudy Vey Rover with TGN Finest
    Reef Point Dragon’s Blood
    [IMG]

Another excellent shave this morning where everything just works very well together. The RV Rover lathered up the Reef Point Dragon's Blood easily. Two passes and some touch ups with the AlumiGoose ended in a near BBS. I just don't chase that one spot on my neck most days. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver leaves me ready for the day.

Overall February has been a very good month. The Razor, Brush and Soap A Week Theme is allowing me to spend time with each item and maintain variety as well. Most of the shaves for the month have been very good. Even those shaves that were sub par helped me better understand my preferences and choices in shave gear. I enjoyed reading the daily posts of other participants and follow along with their journey. Thanks again Neal for running the thread. I hope to see you guys for March as well.

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick I1 injector
Brush: Two band badger with Surrey handle
    Lather: Route 66 Perfect Storm
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced Barber Shoppe
    WTG, touch-up

Nice and easy shave this morning. The re-done Surrey badger whipped up incredible, slick, dense, and well-hydrated lather from Route 66 in Perfect Storm scent. Easy WTG pass with clean-up around the jaw and neck and I'm good to go. Nice finish with witch hazel and some Iced Barber Shoppe from our own TSD Shop.

February wrap-up: I didn't really have a focus this month. I rotated through injectors and SE razors and tried several new soaps. The month of shaves was good. I'm finding I really like badger and synthetic brushes and I'm getting better and better at producing consistent lathers from all types of soaps. It was a fun month!

    Have a great day!

    Feb 28 - Phoenix Lives!!! Astra SP#1

    Feb 28 shave.jpg

    Merkur 34C HD
    Astra Super Platinum Day 1
    The Phoenix Silvertip brush (JosephsLathe)
    Homemade PSO
    Stirling Pharaoh's Dreamsicle
    Alum, Thater's Original WH
    Nivea Sensitive PSB
Final Day of Feb and I chose to kick it off with the newly repaired brush from JosephsLathe(Etsy). I have nicknamed it The Phoenix. Dry, it had a very firm backbone. Once wet, it softened nicely. It had a nice action and soft feel. Exactly what I was looking for. Also in comparison to my first use photo, the bloom is tighter. I need to work on lathering with this brush. I did not put enough product on it to start but after a bit more, lather was perfect. Pharaoh's Dreamsicle was awesome. I like musk and orange scents and to me this was great. I think this will be purchased again.

Astra SP blade felt smooth like the Derby Extras. It just glided across my face. they had a nice low drag feel and felt nice and sharp. I was expecting the best shave to date and expected these to dethrone the Voskhods form the top spot but the results were not as good. Cheeks were BBS but there is still some stubble on the neck and challenging spots. I think this is more due to my technique than the blade. Will need to see how day 2 goes. Alum was tingly and brighter than I was expecting but it quickly dulled. Better in respect to alum than Voskhods but I did do a feather light stroke on the Astras and I doubt I was as light with the Voskhods. A second run of the Voskhods will be needed. In all, I think this is also a very nice blade. No nicks or cuts and the shave went quickly.

Found an old bottle of Fahrenheit cologne that the wife loves and with its spicy orange sent (to me) I think it paired nicely with the Stirling. Will look forward to it coming back into my rotation.

First time with this razor. I stropped it on my Drygulch strop and went to it. I had a very nice two pass shave. It looks like it will be a good week

    Arrrgh!, Bay Rum Blade/Focus Shave!
So today from the back of the vanity I brought forth Taconic Bay Rum Shave Cream(to me it seems more like a croap). The 10098 does a much better job lathering it than my silvertips. Anyway a very aromatic creamy lather ensued. The Voskhod gunned down the weekday stubble with it's usual aplomb. A splash of VIBR after a cold towel application and I was ready to face another fun day in the world of corporate security. Have a great day folks!

    Nice razor and travel case!

As for the brush, do you find it doesn't yield its water easily? Or, to counter this, you beat it to hell flexing it like crazy and forcing it to yield the water? I found it hides the water on me.

I have others that I like better. This one is thirsty, but it fits in my travel tube, so it's been relegated to travel only.

    February 28 SOTD:

    Razorock Plissoft Brush
    Arko
    Gillette Mach 3 Disposable
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Clubman VI Bay Rum AS

I went with the Mach 3 Disposable just so I could carry on only to get told that all the carry on space was taken. Well, sometimes the best plans just don't work. Morning 2 of this set up, and I get a DFS from it. It is more comfortable than I remember carts being. Still not as good as a nice DE or SE, but certainly good enough for the road. It's been a fun month, and I certainly learned quite a bit about the Futur, which I would definitely recommend to anyone looking. I am looking forward to all the fun next month as well.

Thank you, Jim. The real secret to the calendar is it helps me remember which photo to use each day since I take my photos the weekend in advance.
