    February Favorites!!

    February 11

    Razor - Fatip Piccolo
    Blade - voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg (1)
    Soap - Stirling Orange Chill
    Brush - Jayaruh #230
    Post - Alum

Welcome to Menthol Monday. I grabbed the Stirling Orange Chill to add the menthol in, and the Fatip with a Voskhod for a nice agressive, yet smooth as silk, shave. The JR230 is a smaller brush but makes lather like it's a brute. Plenty to go around with lots left over, and the orange scent is quite nice, especially when paired with a little menthol kick. Three passes, the baby is in the house and probably was after the second pass, the alum is quiet and all's well in the Lou. Great day off shave and a great way to start off another week. Hope your Monday was great!

This package arrived today from Andrews shave shop. Found this sweet Gem on there when i was looking for blades and couldnt resist either . Excellent service once again Andrew .
Now on to the brush. I won this in Andrews anniversary PIF and was estatic to have won. Its a reknotted Surrey , synth knot, and lathers like a champ. Andrew i cannot thank you enough my friend.
Loaded a well used, once stropped Treet cs blade for 1st pass then swapped it for another well used Treet for 2nd. Was a real nice shave and i really enjoyed this beauty. Feels good in the hand and on the face . May strop the Treets and see if i can get more mileage with them. Just for curiosity sake.
Will give the DE blades a go later in the week. Have a great evening guys .

    Hello Gents!

Jumping in really late this time around. Life's been a real challenge lately. I've had to resort to shaving with the Gillette Guard the past few weeks and have not picked up my DE razor till today due to time constraints. :(

Still...better late than never I suppose. I'm not even going to try to read thru the 115 pages of posts I've missed. :p

No picture today but here is my Shave report:

    Razor: Merkur 23C
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    Preshave:
    Lather
    : Route 66 Barbershop Hop
    Brush: Synbad Synthetic brush
Postshave: Alum, Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated aftershave

Man what a great shave! The Route 66 was a small sample I received from @RyX and I can see why he told me to try it. The lather, cushion, and glide were way above the Proraso Red I was using the last time I was able to DE shave in January. The alum stung a little bit in some areas but was much milder than my last shave. It would seem Soap can play a big difference in the shave. Very nice smell as well. I think I could have added a bit more water to the soap though. I still have some of the sample left so I should be able to get the hang of it over the next few shaves. Hope everyone is having a good February!

Monday noon February 11 - 4th shave of the month

    Rockwell 6s on plate 4 / Sharp Star (1)
    APShaveCo Flat Top synthetic brush
Stirling Port au Prince soap sample
    Alum and Stirling Barbershop splash

Mowed stubble again today. Excellent Stirling lather provided a solid setup for two good passes by the razor to achieve a DFS with no errors reported by the Alum.

Then out into the snow and cold to run some errands...

i have a really clean prewar tech i was going to use for todays shave as its my least used tech , and i found the baseplate is bent..was always that way since i got it,just never noticed.i have a clean new short comb base plate with all its plating intact without a good cap and handle. 20190212_030812.jpg , and you guessed it, the prewar cap is the same as the sc cap..will give it a go soon..

That's a very cool looking Type F, Andrew. The Haverford sounds like Aramis. Great scent, but I have to apply it lightly, and it lasts all day.
