    Excellent report, Comrade.

Survival following application of Turkish product mixture followed by skin contact with "Vegetable" product indicates strong will to live. To keep you fit for service, however, Cartel physicians recommend daily doses of Vodka Étouffée for 14 successive days.

    Gillette oc w/ jayaruh handle
    Pol silver blade 3rd use
    Jayaruh 147
    Mwf
    Myrsol emulsion

Last night ended up being a no shave night. I went and changed up the soap for this evening to the Mwf . The third try with the pol silver went better, I had been riding the cap a little more and was paying more attention to the blade feel and ended up with better results tonight. Still had a couple of weepers and not as much burn, a little on my lower neck but a big reduction of both. So definitely a step in the right direction. 8FCB4E33-4290-4CB9-8AED-21F49DA5B350.jpeg

I think before these shave it had been around two months, maybe a little longer some I had a de in my hands.
I really like the r4l, simple to use and smells great too
It’s getting better this razor has way different personalities depending on the blade.

Thanks Charlie. I considered considering dabbling with shavettes and chose to begin with a straight since I had drawn the opinion that the shavette was a more challenging instrument to master. Still considering it, I recalled you writing something about straights and figured I'd ask.

What is interesting is that I sensed a tuggy feeling on my first shaves as well. I knew my edge was good and was puzzled. At this point I'm going to say that it was the apprehension of the new experience. I'm a little more sure and deliberate today. Probably be good to have some of that back if I move forward.

Thanks again for sharing I'm sure it helped a lot of folks.

    Be well!

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Gillette Platinum Plus
    Razor: Schick G5
Brush: Ever Ready 100T restored badger
    Soap: RazoRock Blue Barbershop
Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave

Nice and easy shave with a scent that has become one of my favorites. The soap is slick and easy to lather and the splash is packed with menthol. I like cold splashes and this one ranks highly in the cold department. I like it. Nice shave all around.

Back to the Route 66 sample tomorrow to finish it off. Enjoy your day!
