I pulled it out last night to take take use with the Lupo and then changed my mind. I will get it the C-Mon out soon. I just love the way the handle and knot feel while lathering.

I wouldn't call myself a guru by any means. There are many more experienced with SE razors than I am. I have used either the OC Micromatic or the ClogPruf a lot but generally stayed away from the others until last year. Of the Gem blade SE razors, I have used the MMOC, MMCP, MMBT, ER 1912, Streamline, and the 1924. It is more on the aggressive end. If you can use the OC micromatic, you should not have any issues with the 1924 (It's a great shaver).

When I first went from 3 passes to 2 passes due to irritation, it was hard dealing with the less awesome results. Over time you get used to it and your technique improves getting you back to where you were without the irritation. One of the things that helped me the most was thinning my lather a little so it gave me more glide and less cushion. I came across it being late for work one day and accidentally knocking my brush into the sink. I didn't have time to start over and it ended up being one of my best shaves to date.

Great shave Terry, the soap is not bad but like you the scent is not that great. You reminded me of my razor I also picked up at the Dollar Tree. Now I want to try it out as well. My have to do a Dollar shave tomorrow. Take care !

Notch..... Camera trick... I noticed it too.

Bottom out...... Mine goes to + now. I read somewhere that they will slip if you are too tough. I wasn't, it moved some anyway.

I favor using a Feather for about 4 shaves. I would say that nowadays at wide open setting I ride the edge with a cap favor.

I can see where a spring mechanism can have faults.
