Another great Wilkinson shave, Barry! Sounds like you like that Lea shave stick! Lea products have become quite popular around here thanks to a fair bit of enablement from the Georgia area! Glad your shave went well!

A rushed, but incident-free 3 pass'er earlier this morning. Had to get out the door a little earlier than usual, but still took enough time to enjoy another day with the MonoBilt and another day with this nice scent. I'd guess around 8 shaves or so left in the 1508.5 focus. It is at the stage where I smooshed it back to the middle, so I can more easily overload as per usual.
@Primotenore - Joseph, based on your comments earlier, I think this pic shows that the top cap does indeed clamp down fully on the blade.

Great shave and review, Dave. Your experience with the Blackbird mirrored mine. It's a highly efficient safety razor that requires continuing focus! My 2011 R41 currently serves that purpose and delivers as close or a closer shave. Beautiful razor, just not for me! Like you, I have more than enough! See my Den listing.

Danny, I don't follow??? What’s your concern with the use of tung oil on my wooden scales?

 

Thanks and agreed, Joe! We had about 8” of fluffy stuff, but the sleet is coming now! I’m glad I only have to shovel our walkway from the garage to the front door. Ben will be plowing our driveway out after all this unpleasantness finishes.

 

Tung oil is great and I see no problems with it. I have used it in the past.

I was referring to the words and how they could be misconstrued.

 

Great Monobilt shave, Jason! Stay safe out there! The east coast is getting walloped with cold precipitation of all sorts! Not a fun day!
