I had a fairly productive day of completed tasks before a quick, but relaxed 2 pass shave before dinner today. Everything worked as it should and the results were fine. I’ll move onto a different razor for Monday, methinks. I’m guessing 6-7 shaves now for the soap.
    Have a great night all!

    Greetings,

A relaxing Sunday morning shave...The ever ready 1912 (US) was my first introduction to the wonderful world of Ever Ready SE vintage razors kindly gifted to me by a fellow member of TSR forum (UK) From my first trepidation maiden shave, i was instantly swooned by these vintage ladies, not just the looks the smooth efficiency of these razors is remarkably good as is the audio feedback i could happily shave with these razors forever, but like everyone else i like to rotate my razors in my shave set ups.

A relaxing 3 pass + pick ups Close comfortable Sunday morning shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

    Razor: King C. Gillette
    Blade: Wizamet (4)
    Brush: Knothead "The Kentuckian" Timberwolf
    Soap: Penhaligon's Endymion Cream
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Nivea 2 into 1 Splash
    Fragrance: Penhaligon's Endymion Cologne

I sure hope this is my last forced shave out of a basin of water sitting in my sink. That said it was a GREAT shave with a favorite scent of mine from Penhaligon's. To me the Endymion Cologne is BETTER than their Concentrate which had a slightly different scent. I much prefer the Cologne and it's plenty strong enough. I was fortunate enough to get this Endymion Shave Cream and this is the 2nd use of it. I started wet shaving with C.O. Bigelow Cream back in 07/08 and had transitioned to soaps for as long as I can remember now. This is the only cream I have in the den and it is great. Easy to lather and wow did I notice it being slick when trying to stretch my skin where there wasn't any lather. Scent is a good strength too. Just a swell shave to send off the Camp at Home version of shaving.............I hope. Didn't get any takers on the Play at home version of the game and don't blame anyone. I guess in retrospect, creating it as a board game and living off the royalties isn't a good plan then. Have a great day Guys !!!

SOTD SUNDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 21, 2021

Woke up to a bright blue 19°F morning slated to go to a balmy 33°F by the middle of the afternoon! I don’t know about you, my shave brothers and sisters, but I am more than ready for Spring! Returning to my shave, I must say that complacency is the wrong attitude for a decent shave as my long neglected Rex Ambassador taught me this morning. I’ve usually shaved this razor on 6, wide open, but the stars apparently weren’t aligned properly this morning, or perhaps it was the slightly wider Kai blade I loaded, which I’ve never used in this razor. I usually enjoy blade feel, but not to the extent my dome felt it this morning. The post shave alum check revealed some serious heat in the back of my dome immediately after the first pass. As a result, I elected to stick with a single ATG DFS noggin pass this morning. I’ll return to this safety razor tomorrow, and possibly over the next few days until I get it properly dialed in again. My mug shave was aces, but how could it not be! I chose the first straight razor I ever shaved with 6 years ago, my Dovo Special, and it nicely offset the dome shave by delivering a refreshingly, velveteen smooth mug shave result in three slow, careful passes.

RAZOR: Dovo Special 5/8 (Mug), Rex Ambassador (Dome)
    BLADE: Kai DE
PREP: Cold water rinse rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JT Sapele/Resin Handled Omega Pro48 Boar
    CREAM: A&E Shaving Butter
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with A&E Post-Shave Serum and Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme Balm.
