Wonderful shave Joe. Stay warm, rest up and get ready for the shoveling extravaganza tomorrow. Looking forward to the focus. It will give me a greater opportunity to sink the RR X soap.

We have 3 to 4 inches on the ground. It isn't snowing at a fast rate, but we have all day and tomorrow before it passes. The great thing is that it will be in the 40's later in the week and most of this stuff will be melted. At least I hope so. I made sure that I have enough food and snacks to keep me in good spirits for the week. Lol! I appreciate your concern Jason.

Thanks Joe and you do the same! I would think school would be closed tomorrow as well, unless this storm changes to rain.

Another Nor’easter on tap for the weekend. Hopefully warm enough that it is not snow.

It also deserves better than having to lower their jingle to be just a piccolo and just the very last part. Gimme back de French Horns&Trumpets of yore.

Or it might be the kind of snow that is easier to shovel(if it's warm enough).

I agree...Jim's pics are absolutely stunning. I disagree though, Bill, with your reason why Jim is hiding his pics from us lately. His den is tired. He knows it and we know it. Cape Cod clothes will get gear looking absolutely amazing (I guess if you're into that sort of thing...), but it is merely a saddle on a mule. He has been neglected his hardware, yet refuses to upgrade. So sad. He is dazzling folks with bright lights, but knows the 30DC is a more refined beast and so he chooses to shield us from his humble den until he finally relents and for once tries to 'keep up with the Joneses'. Don't even get me started on software- How old is that PdP soap? Tragic, really...
PS- all these cool emojis on here and not a single one that represents 'pity'.

Awesome shave this morning. This will mainly be my set up for this week long focus. I will be changing the brush and juice up but everything else will remain the same.

The Razorock 400 whipped up some very nice and slick Tabac this morning. I added a little more water and made the lather thinner due to suggestions for the straight blade.

I did complete one full shave with the Parker SRX and two on the cheeks with the SRX. :happy108: It was a little awkward but it is getting there. I did not want to push my luck so I grabbed the Above the Tie Atlas with the R1 plate to finish things up. The alum was a little warm in a few places but I'll take that with no weepers or cuts.

Finished it off with some American Tobacco by Andy Hilfiger.

Take care guys and stay warm. Chilly in Bama today.

Alabama awesome shave Danny! That's great you got one and a half shavette passes. Just enjoy the process and don't rush to get 3 passes. You are on track to be able to choose whatever razor with great proficiency. Have a great day!

How do them Cape Cod cloths work on brass Karves?

I allowed myself an hour per shave when I started open edge. It took less and less as I went along.

    Time is your friend here.

    February Focus
    [IMG]
    AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson 57 (Douglas)~~Gustave Lalune~~Milton-Lloyd Mojo
February is here and I am happy to be able
    to participate.
I will not do a "rule" this month, but rather a few "foci"
First off will be the completion of this tub of AoS Sandalwood.
Hard to estimate how much remains, but I would guess about two tablespoons or less.
Once it has been finished, I will choose another soap to stick with until 3/1.
Let's all put our bifocals on and take a gander at this gorgeous goo, shall we?

Lather today is brought to you by the Simpson 57. One of only 30 made way back when.
(Back when Simpson could still make a beautiful brush...that's when)

Having shaved with my 2011 R41 for the entire month of January, I was pleased as punch to use this straight.
The Gustave Lalune got a nice and easy stropping. That was fun.
The first pass, with skin-stretching was buttery. I focussed on "wiping away" the lather.
Used both hands, muscle-memory took over.
Performed three subsequent passes, XTG and ATG, and a repeat, à la @Keithmax WTG pass.
Speaking of Keith, haven't heard from him lately. Hope all is well in S. Korea.
    No weepers, no cuts, nada.
I'll say it again, a 2011 R41 is MORE aggressive than a straight.
That's my opinion and I am sticking to it.
De-soaped my skin with a double-washing of Witch Hazel, followed by a soothing application
    of the Proraso ASB.
Today's scent is a clone, replete with synthetic and chemical Oud.
Oh, but is it ever lovely...and manly. Milton-Lloyd Mojo.

    Have a great month.
