The plating is mostly there and fine. The lacquer is the problem . It would be nice in nickel or rhodium. And....I'm searching brushes right now.
I thought my birth year gold toggle would cure my RAD too. It did kind of, I haven't bought a DE razor since. I have however discovered straight razors. I have 4 in my rotation and a few more that need restoring.
Gold doesn't tarnish so no need to polish it. If it's clean it'll shine. Maybe it's my computer but that razor looks nickel plated to me? Awesome find though!
Wow, you must be stoked! The toggle variant typically sells for hundreds of dollars. Congratulations! Gold plated razors usually have a thin laquer coating over the gold plating. Be careful how you clean the razor lest you damage the laquer. Ya never know. Sometimes guys collect razors because they are searching for the perfect one. Once they find it, they get rid of most or all of the rest. The Muhle R41 ended stingraysrock's RAD, as he stated in this post. I am glad he found his holy grail razor, and glad Weeper Warrior found his, too. For some, the journey is what counts. For others, it is arriving at the destination. And often one morphs into the other. C'est la vie.
Nice score! I think shaver x hit the nail on the head. I guess im the only person who has never seen one of these before. What's the toggle do?
