I think I am going to have to go on a blade quest as well because the US Personnas I am using give one great shave, two ok shaves and then I may as well go get a rock from the yard and shave with that.
This morning I tried a Derby from a different source in my fatboy. Still some slight skipping at the start, but a vastly better shave. I'd say on par with the one from the Crystal I used yesterday. Redemption? Too soon to tell.
I tried to like Derby's, I really did but after 3 blades from different packs/sources, I had to give up. The price is great and they have a good following but the Gillette Swede's are the blade for me. I just ordered 100 from an online shop in the UK. Can't wait for that box to get here.
Add me to that roster. I call them the 1-hit wonders. I tried some from a Dollar store and they were horrible. I trashed them. I just ordered a sampler with Derbs, Astras, Red IPs, Feathers, and 2 others. Can't wait to feed some new blades to the 'Boy. Been wanting to try the Derbies for a while.
