1. I never use a big word when a diminutive one would surely suffice.

  3. I use it and like it. Good memories of my youth and the ole barber shop. Some say it smells like and old man. Well maybe. But if you don't like it for that reason it's ok. Just put it back on the shelve for a few years (it will keep) because eventually you'll be in the club man.
  4. I don't use it often, but I did splash some on this A.M.

  5. Clubman works better than Deet for mosquitoes, not to mention chick repellant.

  6. Interesting you say that-some have said one of the ingredients in the original Rise was a mosiquito-killer.

  8. Clubman--meh. As with the ubiquitous Avon Wild Country, I like it but don't love it. I am using up a bottle of it and don't plan on buying more.

I do like its above-average ability to fix weepers and nicks after a (rare) rough shave.

Sometimes the fragrance is cloying to me, and I get the impression that co-workers don't like it much when we're in close company.

I keep hoping beyond hope that Old Spice Lime will someday make it back to market. That was a fragrance appropriate for most any man--young, old, in-between.
  9. I loved that stuff.
  10. Let's not forget Clubman's cousin --Lilac Vegetal. Anyone like this. Just curious of its following. My Dad loves this stuff.

  11. Wellllll.....I appreciate the historical aspect (Napoleon appeared to go for it), but....I don't see myself trying it.

  12. Im a big pinaud clubman fan. It just reminds me of that old-school barbershop smell. Probably because its what every barbershop has used for the past 100 years.

I enjoy their lilac vegetol as well. It seems to be a live it ir hate it scent, however.
I have all their scents, but those are the standouts for me.

  13. The Indian Shulton version can be easily ordered from eBay. I've compared it to the original scent and it is pretty spot on, allowing for some scent degradation in the original.
As someone who was attacked by a rooster as a child, the words "chick repellant" are music to my ears. ;)

  14. I enjoy Pinaud Clubman and also Clubman Bay Rum. Both have a scent long lasting enough, that I don't need to add cologne, but not strong enough to be overpowering. I like the "retro" (could read as old man) scent of old barber shops. I'm pretty new to scented aftershaves though.
