For how many more years will we be able to shave like this?

I honestly think I have more than enough shaving soaps, creams, blades, aftershaves, etc to last me for the rest of my life even if I stopped buying any more. I doubt that I'll ever finish everything.

Soaps for 10 years easy and I have just begun. I shave with a straight. 16 of those and counting. Enough strips and stones to keep 'em shaving for centuries.

    Might need more soap

That is a great video, I wish they had such a good stock in a B&M in San Diego. DoubleTapThat I don't think you have to worry. Enjoy the journey.

I doubt that will happen in our lifetimes. All the blades shown at the links below are current production:
Those are just a few of the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of online traditional wetshaving stores. Even 50 years ago, people did not have such a huge selection of blades at their fingertips. Ten years ago, there were only a few Merkurs and a few blade types being sold. The relative dearth of safety razors and double-edge blades in brick-and-mortar stores is a sign of the times. People are increasingly shopping online, and not only for shaving gear. What you are seeing is the intersection of a number of evolving trends and subcultures.

And the shavepocalypse? That exercise in hysteria and silliness has long since been hyped into irrelevance on the forums. It didn't happen. It won't happen unless an asteroid strikes the Earth, in which case we will all be dead and won't give a darn. There is therefore nothing to worry about.

This very issue is what got me on this forum. I noticed stuff slowly disappearing from the local super markets and drug stores. No more Personna blades, no more Palmolive shave cream, etc. I came on here to find out what else to use and where to obtain. The folks on here have been a great source of information and an excellent resource. I have been able to find all my old favorite products again. And am learning about tons of other stuff that I will have to try.

There is always the Internet for supplies and if that becomes lost for some reason like government regulation and taxation we can resort to the old catalog and snail mail method of buying.

I have found this is true with many things.

there are a few other brick n mortar stores like that here in the u.s. but not too many. Im lucky to be not too far from maggards. it is a good opportunity to check the scent of the soap before u buy it and get pissed when they smell bad
