I believe it was the new software they use on their new site causes lower shipping? Doesn't make much sense to me, but on one of the English forums, they have confirmed that the shipping has been reduced form what it used to be. That being said, you can get theie "Cafet" or "Le Domino", and with shipping that only runs you about $45 total (for either).
Well, I ordered some of the PRE de PROVENCE and I really like it. I had no problem with lather and it was very gentle to my skin, and provided a very smooth shave. It is probably something I would order again when this one runs out. That will be quite some time with all the good soaps I have in my rotation.
I love me some Monsavon Bol' A Rasor! Dang nice soap. I had a tub but gave it away. I hear it is way dirt cheap in France. Where to get it, I dunno. I got mine from a private sale here on TSD.
I did not go through the whole checkout process, but USA is listed in the ship to area when registering. https://www.frenchclick.co.uk/p-4448-monsavon-lait-bol-raser-125gr.aspx
Just an Update...for those interested. I received an e-mail this morning from Steve at AR-Soap.com, an English (I believe as it is all in GBP) site I found, and he told me that within the next 24 hours he will have udated his site with shipping prices, etc for North America. It will be about $10 (post included) to get a container of Monsavon 'Bol a Raser.
Very nice! I am in! I went all the way through registration on the site I posted about earlier and they want 30 pounds to deliver two tubs!
Nice, I have used mine several times and it has a nice scent, rich lather, and lasts a long time. The company is a subsid. of Sara Lee; go figure.
I think Provence Sante (green tea scent), Institute Karite & Martin de Candre are the best vegetable fat based soaps I've used. PS is a real bargain, lasts forever and performs very well. IK is a bit more expensive but the lather is thick and the shea butter content is something my face likes. MdC is expensive but so little is needed the price per shave is much more reasonable and the performance is stellar. PdP smells great but the shave performance lags behind the others mentioned in this thread IMHO.
