This does not surprise me. I once was at a flea market and found a razor in a bin of misc. items and it was assembled the same way. I asked the lady for a price on the razor to which she replied, oh is that what that is, Take it! YUK
@HolyRollah Those straights are hilarious! I found a few that were rusty and chipped at flea markets and keep getting told that people don't use them anymore, they are antiques and decoration items! I really need to make a short video to show some of them that yes, many of us still use them.
I think I will start a new business. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=111314774114
Truth in Advertising: "Vintage George Wostenholm & Son Limited Straight edge Razor" "This straight edge razor appears to be in great shape, the box shows wear. It has "The Electric Cutlery Co Newark, NY" stamped on the blade. The box says George Wostenholm & Son..." If it weren't for the wear on the Wostenholm box, I'd be all over this Newark 'straight edge' razor! (ironically, I can't find ONE straight edge on that picture razor!)
It does say that it is a Limited Straight edge Razor. If you look closely, I think the straight part is very limited.
Sometimes the text is the best part. Oy, such a butterfly opening! And the blade goes inside. Ok, you have seen my Old Spice Cobalt Blue mug, a lot. Well here is your chance to get one on the bay. It's in the correct box, but that is the only authentic part of this set. Not sure what the mug actually is, and the paint is almost funny. The ship is a nice repro but it's not even straight. Bidding is still on.
