So does thing thing work like a ball in a mouse ( the computer version) . Cos the other day my mouse stopped moving, took it apart clean it out something got stuck on the ball. You really don't want that to happen when the ball is attached to a piece of metal, sorry 5 pieces of sharp metal... sitting on your skin. Just saying.
I have one question, regarding the ball. Will it be able to get moved easily to the left and right, or will it be attached to a string-like stuff, so you have to put a little bit pressure to move it? I suspect the second option will be better, because I don't want it to move whenever it wants when shaving. Also, how long do you think this whole ball will last, before it brakes?
Do you really want to rub a ball on your face? Some guys might find it relaxing I think it would just annoy me
I don't understand why people here are being so curious and surprised, when someone asks something about cartridge razors or canned gels. Since I am asking specific about that, I am probably going to use this razor and I expect an answer when I ask a question regarding it. Not another question on why I am doing this. I am writing in the Cartridge section of this site. It seems even here it is being taken over by DE shavers.
Yeah I think you are right, I mean I don't see this as a widespread problem, but there be some poor soul who doesn't clean the ball properly when he's finished shaving, maybe that canned foam goes hard overnight, then in the morning......ow. Haven't seen any of these ball razors for sale here in Denmark. I think it is because Gillette are doing some promotion for the world cup. You can buy a fusion razor in the colours of the football teams playing in the world cup. I guess us football loving nations won't hear anything from Gillette about a new razor whilst they are still trying to make us go out and buy a new fusion razor. Guess it is up to one of you Americans to try it out
Some of us use cartridge razors (like myself), just not the 4-5-6-7 bladed kinds. I use Trac IIs and Atras when I shave with carts. The extra blades cause my face irritation so they are not much use to me. However when someone puts a mini basketball in the cartridge razor it will make me look at it for a while and muse. As to why DE shavers show up, all post updates show in the recent post section of the forum. That is where most users go by default rather than specific forums. That is why there is more than simply cartridge users reacting to cartridge threads.
I am retro fitting my Schick Injector G-1 as we speak. When I travel I use carts and/or disposables. Wilkinson disposable or Mach 3.
Like Gary, I also use carts...but only the 2 bladed ones. But I have never gotten a bad, less-than-BBS shave from my wife's Fusion. It's simply cost prohibitive for me. I have nothing against them otherwise; they are what they are and "it's all about the shave" (I think I read that somewhere).
Hey man, use it! I wanted to use it, but SWMBO likes sticking with the more cost efficient DE blades ( I don't mind, it just means more razors to buy ) please review it. I'm excited to see it. I'm quite curious how it will act. I'm glad it's fusion compatible. They could have really made a ton by making new carts. Of course, unless it flunks, then their marketing move makes sense.
I guess they are taking a cue from Dyson ball. I'll bet the new Gillette doesn't lose its "suction" either.
I can't even guess how they engineered it, however like many people I will probably get one to try, as I do enjoy a fusion blade for speed shaving my head in the mornings. When I get home I may try to do a side by side compared with the regular fusion handle I have.
Any idea whether it will get released in the UK? I don't see anywhere information about that. Is it exclusive only for the USA?
Watched the ad for this on youtube. "Gets virtually every hair." Not every hair, but virtually every hair. Thats reassuring. All I see is a fancy looking gizmo trinket with sparkly bells & whistles. They're trying so hard to convince the masses they've engineered new technology, when it seems to me all they did was reinvent the wheel and slap a hefty price tag on it.
I'm wondering how easily the thing pivots. It seems like one false move and you've got a nice slice happening.
Gillette's Fusion is definitely an improvement over the Sensor and Mach3. The other day I got a perfect bbs shave though I had been shaving with a double edge before for months. And as for the cost: You get a lot more shaves with a Fusion than with a Mach 3. And as for the ball: I'm sure it's a minor improvement. They start selling some time in June. Funny how people ridicule five-blade razors. Do they ridicule 6-gear transitions? Aren't four enough??
