Over the past few years, I've considered Personna Labs as one of my favorite blades. I am here today to say I may have a new favorite: Gillette Silver Blue blades. What a fantastic shave! Outstanding I tell you. Sharp, smooth, effortless, good longevity. What a wonderful blade!
I concur. I just have to to see how they tackle my facial hair. I only used them on my head so far and decided im back to the goatee so in few days I can give em a shot.
I am working my way through my first sample pack and have used the GSB blades last two shaves ,really impressed with the quality of the shave . Glenn
I'm with you on the GSB. At first I wasn't too struck. But when you get things right, they're a fantastic blade. For me the Gillette's in general are very good.
Yellows are my favourite blade. Greens I'm waiting to try again. Blacks not tried yet. But will be having a go sometime.
Both blades are Russian and Teflon coated. Maybe the two companies use the same manufacturing process?
The GSB's are also one of my favorite Russian blades out of St. Pete. They were my first "100" order. I use them first in each new razor as a baseline.
What is a good source for good pricing on the Silver Blues? Astra SP's are very reasonable on the bay, but Gillette Silver Bules are more than double the cost. Ideas?
I bought 25 a few months ago on Amazon for $7.50 with free shipping (I always look for free shipping anywhere). Just checked and they're $8 for 25 on Amazon. SB's are about twice the price of Astra SP's. Expect to spend about $0.30/blade for qty 25
I have had nothing but trouble with GSB. They didn't seem terribly sharp, were only good for one shave--even then I got irritation, tugging, pulling, and cuts. I have never had those problem with any other blades I've tried. I take great umbrage with this blade, and must dissent most strongly with these otherwise positive reviews.
