    Hi Gents,

I recently acquired a 1966 L2 Gillette Tech (Canadian). Interestingly, the razor is made in England whilst the blade dispenser and blades were made in Canada. Does anyone know if this model of razor has a brass top cap and base plate coated in Nickel? The handle feels weighty so assuming it is made from brass.

Research I have done on this vintage suggests that the US version was made from Aluminium.

    Thanks for any assistance.

Put a magnet to it. If the magnet sticks to the razor you know for sure it isn't brass or aluminum.
