Warm water, cold water, alum, cold water, witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, aftershave, cologne, pose in front of mirror, repeat "you look marvelous" three times, strut around house and call to Bride to enjoy the scenery, bask in compliments, drive to work, and make everyone's day.

I find this ritual to help with my low self-esteem. Other than than, I don't do anything special.

Unless we need to thin the herd. Veg will do in small and weaker bovine animals. It's not for everyone, just the heroes.

      1. Add a tiny amount of Nivea cream, using the wh to dilute and massage in.

It may be a little over the top, but I never experience discomfort post shave.

Does the high alcohol content dry your face?

Tazorac, I like the astringent & sanitizing effect of the alcohol. Plus, I love the burn.
I moisturize with my product of choice directly after the AS application to counteract any drying.

    Works for me.

Now retired , I ALWAYS have the time!
After rinsing off the soap and do a pat dry, I use my OWN concoction of aftershave balm.
Here is my present fantastic mix.

    Thayer witch Hazel
    Aloe Vera
    Sheabutter
    Jojoba oil
    Vitamin E
    Coconut oil
    Avocado oil
    LUCKY TIGER aftershave
    LAB SERIES Anti aging serum
    Nivea Post shave balm sensitive.

Fill several amber pharmaceutical bottles and one travel size plastic bottle with spout top.
I'm delighted with the outcome. I even apply after I wash my face without shaving at night. My 76 year old skin has visibly improved.
. Even my brother and our close friends swear by it.

Rinse, splash, and in drier months a balm a bit later on in the evening.
