My post shave routine is to first rinse with cold water. I then rub an alum block over my still wet face to ease any irritation. I rinse the alum off with cold water after I have cleaned all my implements. I dry my face off and then apply some T.N. Dickinson’s witch hazel using a cotton ball or small facial pad. I let that dry on my face. Once I’ve cleaned up the sink and bathroom I then will apply an aftershave. I have several but my favs are Pinaud Clubman, Clubman Lime Sec and RazoRock’s Blue Barbershop.-

Cold water rinse, feels so good, followed by alum block, always! I even put some alum on my crows feet around my eyes. Kind of tightens em up. Then about 10 minutes later, another cold water rinse, followed by balm or aftershave.

This is often done with a scotch on the rocks next to me.
