Like someone with an addiction problem, you may need to have a Sponsor (a baby sitter?). That's a lot of temptation!
Wow, not a single soap company recommendation! Looking at the list I have been making I can see it is hard since all the reviews I see on those brands all point to very good to great soaps!
There are a couple on that list that like a lot, Mickey Lee's Soapworks and Ogallala are great performers. I'm a fan of the Feather and Astra SP blades. Stay away from the Merkur blades! I would be a kid in a candy store there. Have fun!
Hard to recommend without know what have already. It looks like they carry a lot of great products so I would recommend making your way to the soap aisle, start sniffing and fly by the seat of your pants. Let us know how it goes.
I was kidding because I think I'd go crazy in there especially given my current irrational acquisition disease. I will be in NYC in as few weeks on business and I'm trying to plan a getaway there. Assuming both locations are similar. Not sure which is close to the hotel. Also business associate has zero interest in wet shaving so asking another guy to go to a "drug store" won't work
My wife and I talk about how we would love to go to NYC sometime. If I ever get there, I'm going to that pharmacy.
It is 34th between Madison Ave and Park Ave. Empire is a block or two west of the Pharmacy on 34th and 5th I think. Penn station has an exit on 34th and 7th or there abouts From what I have heard, the 34th St one has more stuff. My daughter now wants me to go after the trip so maybe I will go twice that day!!
TitanTTB , as for what I have currently, here is a list. Lots are samples. (* indicates a tub). With Stirlings samples being 1 oz, I almost do not want a full tub in lieu of getting lots of variety and quicker turn over so they are fresh or so I would lead myself to believe . If everyone made 1 -2 oz samples, I would never buy a tub again. a 1 oz sample is good enough for 20-30 shaves which is perfect Stirling Sandalwood, vanilla sandalwood, Piacenza, Tuscany, Executive Man, Baker St, Dunshire, Pharaoh's Dreamsicle, Sharp Dressed Man, Lemon Chill, Orange Chill*, Wintergreen, Spearmint, Weekend in Malibu, South Padre, Island Man, Stirling Blu, Iced Pineapple*, Margaritas in the Arctic*, Gin & Tonic on the Rocks,* Obsidian, Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo*, Frozen Tundra, Arkadia, Vanilla Bean Expresso* (wife's), Almond Creme*(wife's) Barrister & Mann Dickens*, Rhapsody*, Cologne Russe*, Seville*, Bay Rum*, 42*, Limon*(wife's) Razorock XX*, Son of Zeus*, Classic*, Caribbean Holiday*, Italian Barber Amici* Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti* Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Art of Shaving Unscented, finished recently a Sandalwood Wheat State Soap Vanilla Sandalwood tons of soap box pass around samples. For some reason, I think I still missed a few but this is the vast majority. I do enjoy citrus scents and replicates of known colognes.
Before I even started looking at what soap companies they sell, I had plans to look for Saponificio Varesino 70th and Panna di Sicilia and possibly the fern one B&M Night Music, Adagio, Le Grand Chypre Fine L'Orange Noir, Italian Citrus, Platinum even though these might be duplicates of some of what I already have. PannaCrema Nuavia - Not sure they sell Blu or Verde Crown & Crane - Not sure if they sell Port Royal Bay Rum Check out rest of their line since I found the soap very good. And possibly grab a tub of one of the samples I love (Dunshire, Executive Man, Arkadia, Piacenza, Pharaoh's Dreamsicle, South Padre, Island Man, Weekend In Malibu, Baker St). These are just too good. Might check out a sandalwood Also, if there are any other top soaps or any unique and different scents, I might grab them as well. I think I will have a hard time limiting this to 5 soaps. My only saving grace is if they are out of stock on some items.
