I had a chance a few years back to test drive a C6 Z06 corvette on a track. The only restriction I was given was not to crash it. What an experience!
As a kid my dream car was the Austin Healy 3000. I'm not a sports car afficianado, but that little roadster seemed especially beautiful to me...still does.
That is it. My dad raced a lot of gymkhana and scca events. He also had a minor sponsorship from Bob Holbert. Here is a pic of him in a mid 60s Datsun Fairlady. Sorry for the thread veer.
awesome ,cool pic.datsun fairlady's are cool cars. before we moved from england in the early 70s my dad worked for ford.afterhours he was involved in ford rally cars and had ties with this group.. they had many cars..
Those are super cool. Euro Ford far outshined the US with the small cars. The Escort Mk1 would have been awesome to get here in the states.
i have dreamed often about getting one here and building it..getting scarce.but i talk often with dad about his times with them..best case scenario would be to import a restored one..they are around here but..
this was my dad's car i got as a rust free shell, been sitting for years.1983 240 turbo, factory plus package.it been lowered, bilsteins, poly bushed in the right places, strengthened, lightened, poked and prodded.drives like a go cart on steroids.
