Is it really worth postage for the chance to pull out a couple things to replace? Shipping anything these days is costly and a major PITA. Dont get me wrong and please dont jump me for throwing my 2 cents in....but I seriously doubt anyone is going to throw their beloved bowl of Tabac, tub of T&H 1805, TOBS Rose, tube of Noxzema, etc....or anything they believe to be worth half a damn? It seems like it will continue to grow into a box of useless garbage(yes some garbage may be someone elses treasure). to be honest i would hate to be that last recipient. I like trying new stuff like everyone else but it seems hard to believe that I would ever get something REALLY cool. I have a conscious and would be tough to even take something good out anyways? Seem to be a major PITA? Just my 2 cents though= my opinion. Please proceed and have fun! BTW....if someone decides to throw some Coates cream in please get with Dr.Mike.....he is in LOVE with the stuff;)

Wow...so, you're not involved, and you just took the time to tell all of us who ARE involved that we are wasting our time and money...

    Thanks for that!

This is why I added to 2 cents part guys;) I wish it the best of luck and hope it is fun and grows substantially into a nice ecclectic blend of shaving goodies:D I would even be willing to add to the box if I could send to goodies to an individual taking part in it. I was thinking of maybe some A/S's that arent easily available? Decants of Osage Rub, Boosters Lime, etc. Sorry to ruffle the feathers:o

At least to me this is the best way for me to get those items that I will most likely never use again out of my medicine cabinet into a place where others are more likely to benefit from it. I am basing the value of the soaps on the original value minus the amount that I figured I used of the product. I have a razor that I am not particularly fond of and I can see many wet shavers who have not tried such a razor before so I will donate it to the box so that others can try it (blades included). I know of a internet store that sells razors of this vintage so I am basing the cost on their price, and the blades based on the original purchase price minus what I have used.

I look at the grab bag this way - I will never use these things again so why not get them out there where others can try them or perhaps pcik up an additional puck of their favorite soap. Plus the photo shows some items that I have not had a chance to try either so I will try them and the next time it comes around I might put it back. So if each of us puts in those items that we don't like and excess items all of us will get a chance to try things that we would not normally try.

    The Eagle Has Landed.

I'll go through it and see what looks good (LEE! What's with the dirty undies? I mean, really...), top it up and I'll send it on it's way next week!

He is in Japan. If he wants dirty undies he can just go to a vending machine.

I read that Japan has recently banned the dirty panty vending machines. Now, you have to go in a store to buy them :D
I'm just hoping djwurm or jbcohen keeps those before my wife sees me pulling a pair of dirty panties out of a box

    got box today in mail..

    Few questions!

The straight razor is it shave ready or a good one to use for a first timer who has been practicing with a dovo shavette? whats the value on it?

The loose straight blade I couldnt see any markings on it. Is it shave ready and just needs to have some scales put on it? whats the value on it?

Also are the little bowls for lathering?

I will look at it more closely this weekend then send it off early next week

Yes, the little bowls can be used for lathering!

The straight razors are not shave ready, I am sorry to say. They need some attention. The next time the bag makes it around I fully expect to have at least a couple of shave ready razors to put into the box

The loose blade looks a little more hefty and in better condition. I think I am going to have scales put on and sent out for sharpening.

Who is "ksenor"? I was going to make sure I had his (or her) address before I get the box, but I'm not finding them in the member list.
