Grab bag

Lee & I met today and the box is on it's way to his house. He took a few pics of what each of us took out/put in. The box now contains a couple of decent straights (in addition to what was in the box previously). The wapi I donated has a small chip which shouldn't be too hard to hone out.

 

Excellent, glad to see that the box is still moving.

 

So, any update on the box's location or status? I would assume that it is between Lee and Gnetics, but I suppose it could have made it to CA and been shipped off already.

Are there 20 pucks of Williams in there now, or what is the story on that one?

 

I just came back from a failed trip halfway to the post office, realizing I don't have Gnetics mailing address. I'll send him a pm now

The box came to me as a large flat rate. It left as a medium flat rate, partly because I took out some giant tubs of soap but also because I stuffed it in there tightly. Oh and the vintage grecian hair coloring thing had to come out too. Did someone take that from their grandfathers' cabinet that hasn't been opened since 1985? just curious

There are pictures on my camera, but my camera's not with me of course. And when I get home I'll probably forget but I'll try to remember to post them. I put in a straight razor and some aftershaves, soaps, creams, I think one is a latherless cream. I don't remember what else - I took out one of the plastic DE razors and like I mentioned a couple of big tubs of soap, I forget what they were.

PS It's not the little things like samples and DE blades that make the box bulky, it's the big tubs of stuff. If you have a big tub of stuff you want to trade out, consider what some guys are doing by just putting some of the stuff into a smaller container for the grab bag as a personal or sample size. That way we can get more variety in a smaller package The box looks good, I am happy with what is moving on - there's a little in there for everyone

 

Sweet! I was figuring on taking a little dab of all my stuff and putting it in the box anyway, sounds great!

I'd imagine opening a box like that would be like Christmas. :signs021

There is a new order this time around.. Gnetics has it now, its gets to bounce across the country some before it gets to me and even longer before it gets to you. Sorry....

But Dom and Jeff should be getting eager with anticipation about now.

Hey guys, was gone for a few days didnt notice the box was here. Just popped it open and it is overfilling with small goods and good scents. Having a hard time making everything fit back inside (local post office are kind of hardasses about overfilled boxes) Picked out some goods will take pictures and ship wend, or thurs afternoon.

 

Oooh! The box is so close to me now, I can practically smell it!

I am so excited, I better go get some puppy pee pads.

 

Don't suppose it will make it to the UK anytime soon? if it does I have a few bits

 

Somewhere back a few pages in this thread, international shipments were discussed, but the cost of shipping and the effort of tracking the box seemed too onerous.

Perhaps you could start up a European grab bag?

 

Got Burnings Address so it will be ready to go Monday. Still havent found my camera since I got back, if I can borrow one Ill post pictures up before it leaves Monday.

 

Maybe I did it wrong but just mailed three razors and some blades to London in a small box with confirmation and it was $33.50. Without the confirmation it was $16. The box weighted 14.3 oz. That is terrible.
