Just curious. Whatever happened to taking pictures of the stuff you got, and what you put in?

 

Yes.. I have noticed that although most people said they were going to post pictures, there have been few that have this rotation. Actually... now I need to go back and look through the rotation... The last pictures were posted 2 months ago. C'Mon Man!

Sorry, the rotation takes a LONG time. It should be finished in about a month. When that happens a new rotation will start with new people added in and probably all randomized unless we want to do the thing where the box crossed the country in one direction instead of criss crossing back and forth all the time. Really, it is the shipping that makes this take so long. Most members have it back out in a reasonable amount of time. However, there are vacations, etc.. where the box sits at the Post Office waiting to be collected.

 

No issues, Was just having a fake hissy fit!

My vote would be for a more logical shipping route... north east down to south east, then a shade across but up north till you zig-zagged your way to south west or north west.. clearly either direction would suffice!

Everything that we put in the box is marked and dated as per previous suggestions. This box can go out as soon as I hear back from Etoyoc / Justin for his address, and some kind of consensus on what to do with the overage; trash some, keep more, put in less, or bigger box.

I'd say you better pitch the cat. Surely that takes up most of the room in the box.

I would guess the green easter egg is Connaught Shaving Cream. A member sent out a bunch of samples of their creams that way 1.5 years or so ago.

I am in favor of tossing anything that isn't labeled in some way. So even if it is probably Connaught, toss it.

What is it about the GEM push button that says broken? If it is bad, toss it. The 1912 looking gem looks badly crooked as well.

With space being an issue, I question the pucks of Williams and VDH. They are easy enough to pick up for most of us locally. How about a PIF with these pucks, the cheap DE, the Gillete ball end tech, some blades, and a VDH brush. Make it just starting PIF. Maybe toss a styptic stick in as well.

I am not familiar with the operation of the Gem push button, but it looks to me as though the flipper lid should close nearly all the way down, leaving a tiny space for a blade to stick out. As it is, when a blade is inserted and the lid closed, there is something like 1/8 of an inch gap between the blade and the lid.

The 1912 looking Gem does have a bent handle. It is kind of scarry looking...i considered grabbing on it, but decided to pass.

I can thin the box out more, going with the suggestions of PIF of the unmarked / locally available stuff, but that is going to take a a day or two. Is everyone okay with that? I may even be able to make a tad more room for a few more shave items...

 

I agree with tossing what isn't marked and/or is available locally. I was hoping the ball end tech would still be in there when it came around to me. I would love to try one, but if you all think it would be better as part of a PIF, for it.

I plan on putting in two GEM razors in the that are in good condition, I got some very good shaves from them but SE razors just aren't for me. I haven't decided what else to put in. Possibly a tub of Omega soap and possibly a tub of Lervia shave soap (I got it the last time the box came around, I can get a good lather from it, but I don't care for the scent as much as I did when I got it).

 

That Tech was put in the box with the intention of you getting it I believe...we can leave it in there for you, I have no issue with that.

 

Jeff (otherstar), it there something special about that tech? or will any ball end tech work for you?

There really aren't any good razors for a newbie PIF is why I mentioned putting the tech in there. If Jeff (stingraysrock) were to PIF the tech, I will add one when it gets to me and Jeff (otherstar) will be next on the box after me.

I will put a Gem G-Bar in and maybe another gem when it gets to me. I will have to see what I have spares of. I will add some more SE blades as well. So it looks like there are plenty of offers to toss both of those SE razors. However, if there is room in the box, keep the 1912 in there and I will take a look at it.

And Jeff, if it takes a little longer for the box to be shipped while sorting out these details, than so be it.

Oh yeah... Jeff... was it worth all the excitement and waiting?
